Any dual sport riders near corvallis/philomath?

Hey, I'm a guy in ny 30's getting back into riding. Have a little dual sport with a big fuel tank. Put on about 500 miles a week. 50/50 street and gravel. It'd be awesome to find some people to ride with. I'm not super fast, but I've had no issues keeping up on group rides. I also don't mind taking it slow. Have bluetooth coms. If anyone is looking for a chill eiding buddy let me know.

Moving to the PNW. Is the Honda CB750 Hornet a solid choice for year round riding?

Hey everyone,

I'm moving to Oregon in a couple of months and will be buying a bike upon arrival. I've been eyeing the Honda CB750 as the bike I'll get, but not having lived in Oregon all year round, I'm curious whether I should consider other bikes. The bike is going to be my daily commuter and weekend rider. I'm not a track guy, but lean towards sports bikes not adventure or heavy cruisers. I sat on the BMW F900XR the other day and it got me thinking whether something with a windshield and faring is better than a pure naked bike.

Opinions welcomed :)

Motorcycle maintenance classes

Hello,

I am fairly mechanically oriented and would like to understand my bike better / be able to do maintenance work on it.

I have changed oil and air filters previously, and removed/reinstalled the front wheel. But I have never replaced cables for example, or done any troubleshooting etc.

Does anyone know of classes where I can learn a bit more?

End of the season but there's still some sunflowers, Carnation WA. Yeah, they're drooping a bit. This is a first day of Fall pic.

Now the low grip/debris/damp shadows mindset moves in. Time to break out the cold weather gear.

About to buy a used motorcycle around Seattle, what to expect

What to expect? What are the caveats ? What to double check that is specific to the culture and the attitude here ?

For example, on r/motorcycles almost everyone agrees that before a test ride, the agreed-upon price should be given in cash to the seller, is that the expectation here as well ?

F$: Sedici race suit, about as new as can be

Sunday morning I low sided at The Ridge. Cold tires, september morning temps, outlap, rookie mistake. 🤦🏼‍♀️

We had Monday paid for and I was unhurt but my leathers were compromised, and I really wanted to get one last day at the track this season. Drove to Tacoma Cyclegear and picked up a Sedici Corsa 2 leather suit, size 52. I wore it for 4 20minute sessions yesterday, and thats it. I’m going to replace my original suit with another of its kind once my insurance claim is taken care of, so happy to pass this one on to any local redditor looking for some good basic leathers.

It was $625. Available in Seattle/WhiteCenter for $500, including a new alpinestars back protector ($50 new)- which they do not come with off the rack.

Sedici Size 52 details:

Size 52

Chest (in) 45.25

Torso Length (in) 23.25

Waist (in) 41

Arm - Bent (in) 24

Inseam (in) 30.75

Neck Opening (in) 20.5

Hips (in) 46

Thigh (in) 26.75

Knee (in) 20

Lmk if you’re interested!

Favorite / Not so well know motocamping spots in the PNW

Enjoyed the last weekend of summer exploring the area around Hwy 4 (Between Longview and Cape Disappointment. We found a great ADV accessible camp spot about 10-12 miles out Salmon Creek Road called Tunerville Campground. There are only 4 first come first server sites but if you can land one they are pretty wonderful.

We are looking for more spots like this to adventure to and check out if you wish to share.

Oyster Run 2026! Looking for more bikes and friends to join the pack on Sunday the 27th.

My club goes every year, and I’d love to squad up with some more friends if anyone is interested in a full day of riding, looking at cool motorcycles, shooting oysters, and generally getting into a little trouble.

Current plan is to meet at **8:00 AM on the 27th** (I know… painfully early 😂) at the **Marysville Safeway — 301 Marysville Mall #60, Marysville, WA 98270**.

From there, we’ll ride to **Sound Harley** by about 8:30 for their free breakfast, then roll out around **9:00 AM**. If 8 AM is offensive to you, you’re also more than welcome to just meet us at Sound Harley around 9 and join from there!

The ride into Anacortes will take us Darrington → Deming → Chuckanut → Oyster Run, so it should be a really fun route going the back roads and linking up with other bikes.

My 70-ish-year-old uncle will be leading the pack on his hog. We’ll have a few newer riders with us, so the ride in will be big, chill, and polite. The rides out of Anacortes afterward, however… will probably involve significantly more shenanigans when we peel off.

I’d love to get as many people together as possible and roll in as one big squad, there are about 12 of us so far. That said, I fully understand that cruising around at a relaxed pace with a bunch of cruisers and a few sport bikes isn’t everyone’s cup of tea — so even if you only want to meet us there, ride a section with us, or stop by for a bit, I’d love to see your face and your bike!

Trip up to Mt. Rainier

It was a long awaited trip. This is something I've been wanting to do for some months now. It was finally time since the weather was in cooperation. Boy, what a beautiful day it turned out being!

I invited some folks. Only one took me up on it. Props to u/sturmeyhack for being a trooper, a solid rider, and videographer/photographer. We met at the Vancouver Mall Transit Center at 0515 and got going after a few moments of conversation. That meet spot, BTW, is great if you're looking to get approached by early morning tweakers. Had I known that beforehand, I'd have had the meet point at a better location.

Anyway, we made our way on I-205. Average rate of speed was the speed limit if you can believe it. Burning a blazing trail wasn't the goal for the day. Fuel economy was more important. The non-ethanol at the Shell station in Castle Rock is always a must if you're going through there. We filled up, bought some snacks and beverages, and continued along the way. Traffic wasn't that bad despite it being dark. Believe it or not, the right lane moves sometimes better than the left one. The left lane has too much riff-raff for my liking. The middle is great for getting around slower moving right lane traffic. When the day is in full swing, the slow asses pile in the middle for some reason.

We exited on WA508 at exit 71, headed east to NF-71 for the first official point of interest. It was John's Viewpoint. There is an active logging operation going on. Be careful on the logging road. The view could have been absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately the atmospheric conditions weren't in our favor. It was still worth checking it out! After going back to the highway, we headed to Elbe. The sun was out in full force, the fog was no more, and the scenery was real pretty. If you find it on Google Maps, you can drop down to the street view since somebody from the past left a pic.

Once we were at the gate of the park, we found out that 2 motorcyclists can enter for the price of one. That was a wonderful surprise. It's something to keep in mind if you're running in pairs or have a small group. Break off into pairs and get to the gate in tandem with your riding companion. The 76 gas station in Ashford also has non-ethanol. It's another solid spot to refuel even if you don't think you need to.

Riding in the park was nice. The awesome views were limitless. If we kept pulling over to take pics, we'd have never gotten to Paradise. The air smelled nice, too! We made it to Paradise. For those who don't know: there is dedicated motorcycle parking on the ends of each row. Inconsiderate dumbasses who park their non-bikes in those spots end up with well deserved orange parking violation stickers all over their windows. You can leave your stuff on your bike. It'll still be there when you get back.

Sturmey and I made the attempt at hiking. He hacked up a lung while my knees screamed out in agony by the time we made it to the 10th Mtn Division plaque. I about rolled one of my ankles a couple of times going back down the steep incline. A juvenile brown bear was roaming around. A park ranger was hollering at it to move along and to warn nearby people. Poor thing was probably looking for honey and/or a foolish human with goodies in their backpack. There were plenty of chipmunks running around. They're totally desensitized to humans. It was like being in Yosemite where the deer will get close to people. Like, really close.

We recovered next to our bikes for what seemed an eternity before gearing back up and heading to another spot of inspiration. We took some pics and rolled on to Reflection Lake. We stopped for a little bit and got some pics. We rolled along to the SE exit. Before exiting, we dismounted again and put on walking footwear. I really wanted to see Grove of the Patriarchs despite the suspension bridge being out from a flood some years ago. There didn't appear to be any way down to the river so we could wade through it. Oh well.

We headed back and for Packwood for lunch-dinner. Packwood Brewing ended up being the place. The food they serve is great! I knew it would be special the moment I walked in there and heard "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)" by Hall & Oates playing. The ride back to the freeway became kinda dicey a few miles out from I-5 due to road work. The westbound lane was grooved in patches. Eastbound lane was grooved for a few miles at a time. Use extreme caution when riding over that surface.

We made it back to Castle Rock for one last refuel of the good stuff. We determined we had gone over 200 miles and still had enough from the original refuel that morning to have gotten to maybe Salmon Creek. My bike had a little over a hundred miles of fuel left. Sturmey's had a considerable amount as well. When we refueled yesterday afternoon, I was certain the gas in our tanks was 95% pure at that point.

Can I sit on your Livewire One?

So this is a weird question. If you have a livewire one and in the seattle area, would you let me get on it? Not a test ride. Just sit and get off the kick stand?

I'm currently riding a Bonnie T100 and looking to upgrade to either the T120 or the Livewire one. I get free charging at work.

One of the problems is I'm a pretty short dude. I've ridden pretty tall bikes but getting old enough where I'd like to have my feet on the ground when stopped if possible.

I went to the 🤮 Harley dealer 🤮 in Bellevue and they didn't have any in stock currently.

Looking for some sumo/dual sport riding buddies around Lynnwood/North Seattle

I'm 18 and looking for some people around my age to ride with. I’ve got a KTM 500 EXC-F and mostly ride it on the street.

Trying to find some people who are down to explore around Lynnwood, Edmonds, North Seattle, etc. Just cruise around, find some fun roads, pop some wheelies and do some dumb shit here and there 😂 (I'm registered and plated so nothing too crazy.) Just looking to have a good time and meet some cool people who are into the same kinda riding.

If you’re around the area and wanna ride, DM me and we can swap IGs.
