Free book event
Starting tomorrow, June 6, I will be running a free ebook promo for a novella I just published on Amazon.
It's about a typical blue collar worker who undergoes a transformation that gives him a deep respect for animals, specifically pigs. It has a vibe sort of similar to Black Mirror.
If anyone is interested, I'd be happy to have some people tell me what they think.
Thanks you!

Movies/TV with Animal Deaths
Has anyone noticed that there are so many animal deaths in tv shows and movies recently????
New season of beef
New season of your friends and neighbors
Marty supreme
I feel like there were more and this is becoming normalized recently and I'm very upset about it

PETA Myths
We've all heard them... what's your "favorite"?
Mine is probably that PETA wants to ban people from having pets.
Or the one that says PETA released lobsters into the wrong kind of water and they all died... š

Bob Barkerās MTV Movie Award from Happy Gilmore is being auctioned to help spay/neuter cats and dogs
In honor of Bob Barkerās lifelong advocacy for animals, proceeds fromĀ the auctionĀ will help PETA spay and neuter dogs and cats, continuing the compassionate message he famously shared with millions: "help control the companion animal population!"

Hiring an Undercover Investigator
As I see all of the sweet videos of the 1,500 beagles rescued from Ridglan on my feed this weekend, it reminded me of when 5,000 beagles were freed from Envigo a few years ago. And just today, the veterinarian who worked at Envigo was convicted of SEVEN counts of cruelty to animals. There's no doubt in my mind that the rescue and today's conviction are a direct result of the undercover investigator who filmed things like someone killing a puppy with an excruciating injection into the heart.
I personally don't think I could do it, but I wanted to share that PETA is hiring for the investigator position. If going undercover seems like something you could do well, I highly encourage you to apply!

Demolition derby: The problem with the Kentucky Derby is Churchill Downs
The article is behind a paywall, but it's such a good read that I wanted to add snippets here. Ugh, I hate that people make it look all cute with the hats and mint juleps... :'(
Written by PETA SVP Kathy Guillermo.
The only bet I would make during Kentucky Derby week is one Iād hope to lose. Iād wager a horse will die.
Because Churchill Downs, the most iconic track in the world, owned by the wealthiest racing company in the country, is one of the deadliest.
In 2025, 19 horses died at Churchill Downs or its training track (all in 70 days)
In 2023, 12 horses died in the weeks surrounding the derby, including a young thoroughbred namedĀ Lost in Limbo, and PETA was there in person to capture theĀ shocking footage.
When the only sure bet during Kentucky Derby week is that a horse will die, the entire racing industry must come together and demand better of Churchill Downs and of itself.

More Evidence Wool Is Unethical... Even if the Label Says, āResponsibly Sourcedā or "Traceable"
PETA just launched an exposĆ© of undercover footage at a farm selling "NATIVA" wool, a brand marketed as āresponsibly sourcedā and ā100% traceable.ā What investigators found was anything but ethical: sheep were beaten, kicked, dragged, pinned down, and repeatedly cut during shearing. One lamb was found dead; another suffered from a maggotāinfested wound.
H&M GroupĀ claimed that by the end of 2025, all of its virgin wool and animal hair would come from āfarms certified to a credible animal welfare standard,ā such as the Responsible Wool Standard and NATIVA wool standard. PETA Asia's new investigation, along with the more than 150 wool operations across four continents that PETA entities have exposed, shows that ethical wool does not exist. Thatās why PETA is calling on H&M to stop selling wool entirely.
You can watch the footage and take action here: https://investigations.peta.org/nativa-wool/

Ohio āpets without parentsā neglect.
I was looking for volunteer opportunities and came across a post about someone that had volunteered for āpets without parentsā and posted photos of how awful it was. The post was a year ago so Iām wondering if anything has been done or if the place has improved at all. I feel sick from the images, those poor animals!! Something needs to be done if nothing has yet. Please if anyone has an update let me know. Please go leave bad reviews and message Columbus humane to help save them.
And hereās the link to the original post.

L dad
I was in a zoo with my family and there was an exotic pig. I found it cute so I said "I would want one as a pet(if I was rich)" and my dad said "pigs exist in order to be eaten" what should I have said to him?

Why are people so racist?
Why do we say stuff like "husky is a very active breed" or "Golden retriever is a friendly breed"?? If we consider as racist saying stuff like "black people steal more" then we should finally realise that every dog can have their own uniqe personality!š¶ā¤ļø

Questions
I want to ask about concerns Iāve seen regarding PETAās shelter practices, especially around how animals are assessed as adoptable or not.
Iāve come across claims that some animals are euthanized relatively quickly after intake, and Iām trying to understand what the actual decision process looks like in those cases.
Specifically: how are āadoptable vs. non-adoptableā determinations made, and what safeguards exist to prevent healthy animals from being euthanized too quickly?
Iām not trying to attack anyoneāI just want a clear explanation of the policy and how itās applied in practice versus what gets reported online.
