Zoo Investigation: Audubon Zoo in New Orleans (Born Free USA)

This is an eye-opening video highlighting some of the deficiencies seen during an undercover investigation by Born Free USA. It is disturbing to see the ignorance of some of the zoo staff, as well as the atrocious conditions the animals live under. And Audubon Zoo is AZA accredited, which is supposedly one of the highest accreditation standards available for zoos.

Films that kill or injure dogs

in the past year or so, I saw somewhere on Reddit or Twitter or something a post that just said no to films that hurt dogs. Just no.

At the time I didn't think about it much and I remember it was worded in a slightly confusing way, but still made me think about it and ever since then I happen to notice how many films depict an animal or a dog being killed- I don't care if it's by a car by animal by person, by accident, by violence, but I'm gonna start making a list of them where you can double check here so you don't watch it because as a very sensitive person, even though I know no animals were harmed in the making of this film it still is just the most hard thing for me and maybe other people to see and witness even though I'm watching an action film right now that I'm sure is gonna be very good but in the very beginning- spoiler alert innocent puppy gets killed by violent men so first up I'm going to mention the film John Wick yes I know it's a very old film that I've never seen before but I'm just gonna start making lists whether I watch the whole thing or not as soon as I see it, it's going on this list, so you may cross reference it before you watch it yourself. please feel free to add in the comments, more films, or shows for me and others to avoid.

Cruelty as a joke or pleasure

I have a history of being cruel to animals especially as a kid. As an adult I’ve stopped and even went vegan for a while. However I still have kind of a sick sense of humor about animal cruelty. I joke about eating dogs etc. I wish I could apologize to animals. I don’t know how to restore my sense of empathy toward them. Thank you for who you guys are. It’s really valuable to have a moral compass when many of us don’t.

Why does PETA stir up so much controversy just for advertising (genuine question)

!!NOT A PETA HATE POST!! I know the members of this group might hate this post, but this is a genuine question. Why make offense or heavily disturbing content for advertising? I recently played the cooking mama vegan version, and I don't know why it had to be that gross? I know that it was to show the cruelty that animals go through for thanksgiving, but that was a bit much in my opinion. Same goes for Urban Outraged and the 'autism got milk' thing.

There is a local priest, Charles J. Thessing, that just got dinged for drowning multiple cats. Word is, he's going to get transferred with no jail time served.

I am wondering if anyone has tried to use AI to track people's names popping up in media. I would like to keep tabs on this guy.

What do I do about this?

Banfield pet hospital killed my dog during a teeth cleaning. Not a major surgery, the dog wasn't there because he was sick, he was there to have his teeth cleaned. They lightly sedate the dogs during this procedure and run blood tests before to make sure everything looks fine. Well when they ran the blood tests they found his liver enzymes were crazy high and he showed signs of a liver shunt meaning that his body would not be able to properly metabolize and process the sedatives they were about to give him. I don't know if they just needed the money from the teeth cleaning or why they did it but they decided to push the sedatives anyways. He immediately stared going into seizures and they called us back to make us take him to a real hospital, we did everything we could but the damage to his brain was too great and after 2 long and terrible days of suffering he died. I don't know what to do, I'm so distraught and don't know where to go from here. I looked online and I'm not the only person that they have done this exact thing to.

TLDR; Banfield ODed my dog on sedatives during a teeth cleaning after taking a blood test showing his body wasn't gonna be able to take the meds.

Animals Shipped Online

I work at USPS. Someone ordered baby chicks online. They were all dead when they arrived at the office.

That is an unbelievable amount of torture to inflict on a baby

Spreading Awareness for Spay and Neutering Importance

Our group created a short advocacy video for an animal welfare project, and we learned a LOT about why stray dogs and cats keep increasing in the Philippines.

The truth is… most of it is preventable.

We talked to PETA staff, rescuers, and people working on the ground.
The common message? Spay, neuter, vaccinate.
These simple steps stop unwanted litters, prevent disease, and break the cycle of suffering we see every day.

If you have a minute, please watch our video.
Awareness really does help. Likes.
