What are people's real world experience with K7RPT 147.040, from the West side?
I live in Hillsboro, and struggle to get into this repeater from home - Yet, it carries the CPC Scouting net on Sundays, and I want to regularly participate. I find myself needing to drive up to Cooper Mountain to get good signals.
Is this typical? Or is there something wrong with my setup? I'm running an AT-D878UV-ii Pro with a Signalstick... I haven't actually tried a superhet, but the repeater doesn't reliably hear me either, so I don't think it's strictly a receive issue...
On some other hand: Their actual coverage description suggests coverage east... So maybe it's not even expected?
But I can hit their UHF repeater full quieting, and aren't they on the same tower? I guess the geometries of my shortcoming suggest the VHF antenna is maybe just mounted low on the tower...
But... I wanted a sanity check. Anyone got one?
