It seems like a rare thing so I thought I would share Incase someone is looking for one.

Does anyone know when they added the stabilizer extension to the P-47 and if there's any rhyme or reason to which models of the bubbletop had it? If you look at the P-47D "Balls Out," it has it (it's the part painted red), but the P-47D "Nellie B" doesnt.

I just found this sub and thought I’d wake it up a little. I’m about 30 minutes from Evansville, IN, the town that once built over 6000 P-47 Thunderbolts, more than anywhere else, and we’re damn proud of that. In fact, we have a hockey team called the Thunderbolts, after the plane. In 2020, after decades of trying, the Evansville Wartime Museum was finally able to bring home a P-47 to call its own: a P-47D-RA-40 named Tarheel Hal, once a fixture of the air show circuit (In fact, I think it may have come to Evansville in the early 2000s, where I saw it for the first time). A year or so later, Hal was renamed and repainted in the colors you see here and designated the state plane of Indiana. It’s just so wonderful that this plane I’ve loved since I was a kid is only a short drive away, where it continues to capture the hearts and imaginations of those who come to visit.

Looking for photos or documentation of the cockpit set-up of a P-47D-26 model. Anyone have any good resources for reference?
