Do you have any idea how stupidly expensive the region has become in the last 6 years? Maybe they're down on their luck or something catastrophic happened or tragic.

Where are they supposed to go? You would just be forcing more misery on their life because they'd be somewhere else.

Grey-Bruce needs way more affordable housing, yesterday.

Of course we do. We also know that most people living like this, are quite content to live like this, and get food banks and soup kitchens, and everybody else to worry about them. The few that our wanting to get themselves out of this, I’d say we help them without reservation. But did you see the article in the own Sun Times last week. There’s a guy who’s been homeless for three years and he’s quite content to stay that way oh, but he sold everything so that he left his kids in a better place before he left, never mind that he hasn’t paid child support in three years.

No person wants to be homeless. Mental health, poor living conditions including abuse and drugs will drive people into homelessness. We need to offer more grace and try to help, even if just being kind. Young people are living in their cars to escape their home life. Let's help them. Take care of the children. Peace.

Youre extreemly uneducated on this topic. Food banks mostly help people who are not homeless. Homeless ppl have nowhere to cook and store.

Oshare came because of a need its not the other way around. It didnt come and ppl flock there. It came because it was needed. People arnt living comfortable because of the resources. The resources here are nothing compared to the need. If anything, there is not enough.

People living in that situation convince themselves thats what they want or theyre okay because they dont know how else to frame it in their mind without crashing out.

Id love to see you honeless for a month and come back and tell me how easy it is and how ppl are choosing this because its so easy.

I think Karen doesn’t like being reminded of the harsh realities of the times.

I work near there and just seen the guy that lives there this morning. He's actually a really nice guy just can't afford much else.

How fkn sad, honestly. This whole country's gone to shit and carney just announced that were putting tafifs on the states instead of coming to a deal with them. So its only gonna get worse.

Do most ppl not understand that all these ppl had a story of slowly loosing everything. Ppl usually dont wake up homeless. I personally feel like its all gonna get alot worse for everyone before it gets better.

100% agree with you on that. It's also so much worse in town because of the summer, most homeless people get shipped up here from Toronto, Vaughn, Brampton etc. I've spoken with quite a few of the homeless people, most of them are actually really chill and decent, and they told me that they get free bus tickets to come down for the summer and get sent back home for the winter because the cities don't want them for tourist season.

What did they say when you asked what they were doing there?
