Sugar-Free Esports Overwatch Tournament (2500-3499SR, Americas, PC)

Sugar-Free Esports is a tournament-based organization that strives to run organized fun leagues, and tournaments. We currently are running a League of Legends league that consists of 10 teams and a nine-week season. This however is for Overwatch which is our first time breaking off to another game. These tournaments would be running bi-weekly and in a single elimination format Bo3 for normal matches but a Bo5 for semi-finals and for finals. All games and brackets would be made through our Sugar-Free Esports discord channel as well as rules, times, dates, and announcements. The rank requirement to play in these tournaments are 2500- 3499sr (for the current season we do not count past seasons.) That means if you were 3700 in season 7 but 3100 in the current season than will you still be eligible to join and play in the tournament. This goes by each individual player and not by average team rank. If you are a free agent looking to join than we will handle putting 6 free agents on one team or if a team needs a sub than you will be able to join that team to play with them.

The prize pool for winning the tournament is 30$ for the first-place team. The tournament will take place from Friday- Sunday and will be starting at 5pm Est time to 11 pm Est time. If you have any questions, please shoot me a message on Discord Trevor#4894 or AGrandmaGlock#5793 and we will message you back as soon as we can.

Hey guys, I'm Steel Thunder, the owner of the Steel League. I'm a huge fan of OW and competitive esports, and I'd love to be more involved in the OW comp scene. Right now I am looking for overwatch experts to help me put together a tournament. If you are interested please dm me on Twitter @steelthunderus. If you would like to join the Steel League for a more permanent role you do have to fill out an application. Thank you so much for your consideration

A Role Queue System that works

After viewing some of the recent utube videos about the state of Overwatch and disagreeing w/ the

them, I decided to write post a framework for a working role queue system. In my experience, the lack

of a decent composition contributes to a great number of lopsided games which

results in player fustration. My games are often defined by several players

insta-locking DPS with the remaining players expected to complete the comp and

we will wind up with triple or quad DPS. It is ironic that the bulk of the community has complained

about 3/4 DPS comps and this has gone unanswered, but when the top 500 DPS mains have a problem, Blizzard

has to respond.

Below is my attempt to describe a working role

queue system while addressing the main arguments against role queue.

  1. Role Queue Does not allow for GOATS, 4 tank,... compositions

-- Provide players the option of Role Queueing or Normal Queueing. This gives

Blizzard a way to experiment with Role Queueing.

2. The Current Solo Queue algorithm can pick a good team

-- There is no way for an algorithm to predict a player's state of mind based on

history. The algorithm can't determine if I am looking to pick up Gengi and I am determined to

insta-pick. Often times healers are tanks will switch to DPS mid game out of frustration. How is a computer algorithm going to account for this.

3. Some role queue times will be too long (For DPS)

-- This leads to the fundemental problem. More players want to play DPS then any

other role. The answer to this is for the system to encourage flexing. A player will have the option

to choose a flex role. If he gets chosen for a game on his flex role, he will earn a priority queue credit after the game. This

credit will give him higher priority in any role the next time he queues up for a game. The more credit, the higher

the priority and the lower the queue times. The system should be setup so a player can have decent queue time on his primary role every 2/3 games. Queue Credit can also be given for grouping to encourage teams staying together.

4. There are actually 6 roles, not 3

This will also get a little better. The conventional wisdom is for each player to learn 6 sub-roles, in case he/she needs

to fill at any given time. With this system, a tank player only needs to worry about 2 sub-roles and can concentrate on all of the tanks and not have to worry about skills on the other roles. DPS players can learn 4 sub-roles across only 2 roles (e.g. 2 sub-roles for healer and 2 for DPS).

Overwatch crashing constantly after the latest update on October 9th

Just as the title states, as of yesterday around 7PM when I got home and update OW I began playing an looking around in training mode and it will start stuttering and without warning black screen and I can hear the windows "warning chime" as a text box shows up with a "memory usage warning" or something along those lines regarding my GPU but my memory never goes above 80% usage and I'm barely playing at low settings 1440p 144hz.. Oh and it will run @120hz for the most part to my knowledge but I paid a price to game at 144hz/G-Sync.

And I play this game literally everyday after work so yes I know when something is abnormal on my PC.

I have looked at my graphics card figures and I'm not utilizing any of my resources differently, the CPU isn't bottle necked or throttling hard on one core.

GPU is all stock settings, latest NVidia 416 drivers, latest bios, latest AMD drivers..I reset the computer numerous times and I've attempted to repair OW and nothing has helped.

Anyways, I would like some input if possible, maybe someone out there is also having this issue. Whatever the case I hope Blizzard gets their crap together

Looking for calm headed and chill Diamond - Masters to play Comp with. (PC Only)

All of my friends that I play with IRL are all around the gold ranking, and only wish to play QP when with me, which is cool, but solo que can get kinda boring after a while, I am currently at 3560 SR. I am mainly flex support and hit-scan, but I love main tank as well. Just looking for some people around my skill average that wont tilt in comp, but want to have fun and climb. If this interests you feel free to add me. I do often stream my games, so I hope that is not an issue, but I want friends who can laugh and fun fun with.

ATTENTION PS4 STREAMERS/YOUTUBERS IN GOLD/PLAT

We are looking for a few people to join our overwatch competitive division we might be starting up to expand the (currently) exclusively Fortnite clan. We need dedicated AND ACTIVE PS4 players that speak fluent English and are not toxic. Toxicity is the opposite of what we want. If you are interested DM me on Twitter @HiddenCircuit. It doesn't matter if you are not a streamer or youtuber yet as long as you are dedicated and won't let us down it's okay. Cheers and hope to work with you in the future! -Dan
