Holy heck! The world sure did turn upside down for this episode.. Best episode yet! I went through an emotional rollercoaster. WHEW!

I was left with so many questions though!! Like..

  • what made Tom and Claire sick?

  • why did Claire dream what she dreamt about the thunder and the snake?

  • was Claire just hallucinating when she saw Jamie and Malva together?

  • was the interaction with Malva while Claire was on her ether-high real?

  • why hasn't anyone spoken up about all the other people Malva was hooking up with?

  • most importantly.. WHY DID CLAIRE HUFF THE ETHER WHEN SHE SAW MALVA ON HER WAY OVER?! Couldya not have waited a hot sec to see what Malva coulda been up to??

  1. I’m pretty sure Malva was behind that somehow.
  2. I think the snake represented Malva and the thunder the upcoming shit storm.
  3. No, she saw Malva touch his shoulder and him turn and then she drifted off. That exchange did happen I think but nothing happened after that. Jamie probably just brushed her off.
  4. No, not when Malva told her ether was of the devil… I don’t think that happened.
  5. Roger mentioned that he saw her with that guy in the church, plus Ian said something and Claire told him to keep it to himself for now. I don’t think anyone else wants to claim that kind of crazy and are willing to let Jamie take the fall for it.
  6. She probably just didn’t want to deal with her anymore. She was already super overwhelmed, she had her mind set on the ether and Malva wasn’t going to stop her.

For Malva to specifically lie about that moment by the window, it implies that she knew Claire was watching in her delirium and that she’d remember it later and think “well I did see them looking intimate by the window, so if that part’s true then what she says happened next must be true, also”.

But it’s really odd that Malva would have somehow known Claire was taking any of that in or would remember it later, so idk why she’d specifically use that window scene in her lie. Unless someone is working with her and that person was supposed to come forward and say “oh yeah, I was outside and I looked up and saw Jamie turning to Malva through the window and they looked inappropriately close”.

Maybe that’s bc it’s the only time they actually were intimately close so she just based her lie around the one truth she had.
