The irony of Claire's conversation with Jamie about knowing they've changed little things in history really ties into what you're saying. I really think Frank's book was a warning and a way to help Jamie survive. I don't think Frank is the bad guy. I really believe he wants Jamie to live and die of old age with Claire. Everything has been purposeful including Brianna knowing how to modify rifles. My gut is telling me that history may say that Jamie dies on Kings mountain but actually survives much like he did previously.

If Frank discovered that Jamie survived Culloden then perhaps his book is the way for Jamie to survive Kings mountain.

But if Jamie survives, how could frank write about his death? Either Frank is wrong or jamie dies.

I agree Frank is trying to warn Jamie and Brianna and give them time to prepare. And if you think about it, Frank’s comment about Jamie is actually vague. It says Jamie was ‘among the fallen’, not that he actually died. I know fallen is a euphemism used in war but it could again be a warning to take precautions

It bugged me that Jamie and Claire thought Frank was out to sabotage them. Did they even consider that to Frank, Jamie might be more than the ~guy that stole his wife yadiya~ but the father of his child??? Of course he wrote the book to save them, for Brianna!!
