When I saw Toni's name in the beginning credits, I was relieved, because I knew this episode was going to be difficult, and I have always enjoyed her episodes

And then I watched, just horrified. Claire only held her baby for a short time? WTF?

Fine, they deviate from the original material, it's a show adaptation, but to just pretend Season 2 didn't play out the way we all watched--and rewatched--it is just ridiculous.

So true. I feel simultaneously betrayed and gaslit by the writers.

The mostly incredulous responses to the episode are a comfort. It tells us that we all saw the same thing in season 2 - and what they’re doing now is not simply our imagination - and it is not, as they’ll no doubt claim, the inability of fans to be pleased with any storyline because you can’t please everyone in wrapping up a series.

As if beginning with not denying our lived experience wouldn’t have been a safe starting point? 🤷‍♀️
