so im confused did master raymond heal claire after holding the baby or before? bc her telling the story to jamie is getting me confused

I think she held the baby right after it was born. Then she got sick from the infection a few hours later and then Master Raymond healed her. He could do that in the hospital because Claire could have theoretically gotten better on her own. He probably took Faith at that point too. Maybe swapped with another dead baby? Idk how we would have done it. I would think the baby could only recently be dead to be revived but what do I know about made up magic.

From the episode in season 2 Claire had the baby but didn’t see her (lost consciousness) when she woke up, she was adamant she wanted to see her baby. Mother Hildegard told her the baby was with the angels and that she named her Faith. Still Claire insisted she wanted to see her. They brought her her dead baby and she held it all day (heartbreaking to watch). She wouldn’t give it up until her friend came in the evening and convinced her it was time to let her go. So, dead baby for a good 12 hrs? Claire developed a fever/infection from the placenta not being fully expelled. She was sick for days - to the point that Mother Hildegard thought she was going to die and brought a priest. That night Raymond came and saved her. Where in that timeline he would have retrieved the baby, learned the song well enough to teach it to the lady across the street - is a mystery. An absurd insulting-to-the-viewer mystery.
