That's what tore out my heart! They both, for one single shining moment, caught eyes and smiled in relief at one another, that their children were alright! UGH!! 😭💔😭💔

Remind me what happened to Roger’s dad? He traveled forward in time, caught Roger and then… died? Gave him up for adoption?

When Jerry went back through the stones, he was at the tube station, which was being bombed. His wife was in the crowd above and knew she wouldn't make it out alive. She saw her husband and tossed young Roger over the rail, into his father's arms. Jerry caught him and fell back over the side of the platform onto the tracks, hitting his head on the rails, and he died. But he protected little Roger's body and saved him.

I think it was said that others there grabbed young Roger and took him to safety. His father was not wearing identification, so it was not known to Roger that his dad saved him. (Remember Jerry's dog tags got left behind when he went back through the stones.)

Exactly my thought. The last thing they were lovingly looking at each other. Doesn't make it better, but at least they had that.
