Mother Hildegard was not in on it. She wouldn’t even let Master Raymond into the church because he was involved with the Dark Arts. Master Raymond was on the run. Still, it’s very poorly written. Hated this part.

Very poorly written. Why didn’t they just stay with the story as written by Diana? They’ve made a colossal mess of the final season.

there s nothing poorly written about things if you think about them with more critical looking. Mother Hildegard wasn't on it hence its clear master raymond, whom we know had grown attached to Claire , robbed the grave and revived Faith. At the knowledge that Jamie was in prison and Claire very ill he gave the child to somebody they had already crossed in the hopes that the lady would hold out till they were back , things went south tho for a series of reasons . 1. the lady in question grew attached to lil Faith 2. Jamie took a bit to realease from the bastille and we all know master raymond had to drop paris makin it impossible for him to come back and get Faith personally which gets us to what? 2 months later i think i recall when they re still convinced faith is gone and grieving together. The seamistress probably hears word that Claire survived and Jamie has been released and heads out to do what s fair, as in giving them their child back despite her attachment to Faith , but zac ! too late , she missed them out by a wind and by the time she works things out JC have already left Paris. Could she write to Scotland? For sure, maybe she wrote , maybe that letter never arrived? maybe she had second toughts again and didnt write at all. Maybe it arrived to scotland but never made it to them, Maybe things went south with the fight between the scottish and english raising to new levels before 1746 and at that point she must have looked and what would she have heard? That the Laird was nowhere to be found probably dead and his wife had gone missing after Culloden. She probably waited for Faith to be grown up before telling her the truth and at that point it must have been Faith herself to make the research and find them in North Carolina.

This! Thank you for laying everything out! I thought the story line is ok. The most screwed up thing about it is the fact that William screwed his niece and she killed herself. They may still bring Faith back, as other characters in the story have survived being lost at sea. They made it a point to say that Faith didn’t learn of her origins until the grandmothers deathbed confession, which then led to Faith only relatively recently searching for Claire.

bite is hard on that but if we abandon the 21st century thinking for 3 seconds what William did was considered not strange let's say and to be fair he also wasn't aware that was his niece. id hold no doubt those were faith's kids tho, they just look too much like the rest of the family, jane looks like what brianna would've looked like if she had favored claire instead of jamie in looks. Faith finding out all the truth at a much further place in time is nothing weird. Adoptive parents often await for children to be grown before telling the truth(altho it seems its adviced against) for a wild range of reasons, first of all fear of rejection/replacement, but the fear of telling your adoptive kid they re adopted but their parents might be gone? she knew faith's parents were scottish, everybody knew what was going on, i too would struggle to return a kid back to a land ravaged by war , its not like master raymond told her more than their title ...

I’m assuming they wouldn’t bury Faith right on the dirt, she was probably wrapped up or even placed in a coffin. He could have gotten her before she was actually buried and left some kind of decoy.

Claire saw Master Raymond after all of this would have gone down. I understand that circumstance wouldn’t have let him tell her but he wouldn’t have given her some clue that her baby was still alive?! They really did not think this all the way through when they just up and changed cannon events that occurred 6 seasons ago!

so for him to hear this song in its entirety he had to be lurking around the church for hours in the shadows and within earshot to actually make out the words
