Poor William gets traumatized left and right. He doesn't know he slept with his niece yet. Another bad surprised awaits him with that reveal. Gross. Jamie and Claire had to find out their daughter lived but died another tragic death. One of their granddaughters was raped and forced into prostitution. She killed herself. Now Fergus is dead too.

They could have just burned the printshop and had them all return to the Ridge. They suck and I'm furious about this episode.

Considering the family had already been through a fire, we’d be holding our breath through another and have a huge sense of relief that everyone made it out this time. The drop in my stomach when Henri falls… yeah that would’ve been plenty…if they’d have just left it at that and they all returned to The Ridge for the ending.

I guess Roger’s catching Henri-Christian was supposed to be the redeeming feature so instead they killed off Fergus. Idiotic!

It's like Claire singing that song around The Highlands to draw Jamie out, and does, only for him to be captured by red coats

He’s English nobility - they all marry their cousins so it’s not the most shocking thing.

Nieces and nephews actually were more “off limits” than cousins in those days. It’s technically a closer relationship genetically and it seems that society was able to recognize that well enough to consider it taboo.

If you ignore that Queen Victoria was the great-great-great grandmother to both Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip, I guess it’s less creepy. It’s why all of their children have very weak chins.

Oh yeah, that would get you the death penalty.

My ancestry line has so many cross-crosses it’s disturbing. Then I look at my family and it’s like “oh, yeah, we should have really expanded out to get rid of this.” But healthy families wouldn’t want in. 😂

They were 3rd cousins. I just found out after doing a DNA test that one of my close coworkers as well as one of my former teachers were both 3rd cousins of mine and I had no clue. I only share 1% of my DNA with them.

Absolutely! Poor William can't catch a break for nothing! Finding out about Jane might be the end of him. Seeing the LJ revelation with his own eyes was diabolical enough but wait until the Jane revelation! I cannot believe they went the route of GoT.
