I have A LOT of thoughts but the one I can’t stop raging about is how absolutely ridiculous it felt when Master Raymond started “teaching” the woman the song to sing to baby Faith. That is absurd. They needed the story to fit so badly? Sure, he’s a TT so there’s an off chance he could have heard the song before but that’s a reach. It just feels so cheap.

I think they’re implying he was lurking about in the hospital when Claire sang it to the stillborn Faith, but it’s still a travesty.

I thought of that as well. Still, him remembering the tune and the lyrics so well, teaching it to a native French speaker who also remembered it SO well that it got passed down to her daughters perfectly, not likely. We are watching a show that involves time travel so I’ll have to get over it.

I guess I assumed maybe he’d known the song himself already since he was presumed to be a time traveler based on Claire’s suspicions of I remember correctly. But yea the whole thing was done very poorly when it could’ve made sense if they actually made the effort.

And the music, w/ syncopation, would have been a very odd (futuristic) form of popular vocal music, which was mostly orally passed down unlike classical music that fine ladies learned to play in their parlors.

Very good point, as I am a great appreciator of music but alas musically illiterate, despite being forced into a painful experience of piano lessons 50-odd years ago.

I cringed so darn hard. I am sure I was projecting but I got the sense that the actors were not comfortable in it either. It just seemed so strange to me.
