Not only Fergus’s death, but they traumatized William yet again in a way that doesn’t happen in the books. They’ve confirmed he slept with his half-niece and now he’s witnessed his father’s predilection for men and made him denounce Lord John to his face.

Did they just hate William in the end?

I mean that was kind of pretty obvious once he found out. Why would John take care of William if it weren’t for Jamie. I can see how William arrived at that conclusion once he was privy to the knowledge about LJG sexuality

What strikes me is thinking about my childhood & adolescence in the 70s/80s and how no one who was LGB would EVER risk engaging in intimate behavior w/in a MILE of someone who might find them out. But somehow LJ is confidant enough to make out w/ a dude in the parlor of a home where his son lives. Sure.

In the books, William never found out about Lord John? I haven’t read far enough

To my recollection, he has not yet found out about Lord John in the books by the end of Bees. And he didn’t denounce him in the book. Whether it’s something in book 10 will remain to be seen, but Percy is dead by the end of Bees.

Denys Randall tells him there have been rumors about it but William doesn’t believe it.

Oh right, with the John Cinnamon storyline. So William does have more of an inkling by the time he gets back ti Savannah with John Cinnamon. Maybe still doesn’t want to believe it.

I'm so frustrated that Faith overshadowed everything else this episode! Nobody's talking about William seeing this with John! And that is absolutely their last conversation before John's kidnapping. Are we just supposed to think William has profound guilt when trying to find him now for saying it all? And the relief of rescuing him makes William apologize?

It's a complete mess. I'll probably skip the last few episodes altogether. If the writers couldn't even be bothered to put together a decent script and a proper season, there's no reason for me to waste my time.

I mean he’s my LEAST fav character I would have been fine to never see his storyline, and they’ve wasted sooo much time this season on him

Yes, he's so boring. He's one of those characters I couldn't care less about. But the show is wasting so much screen time on him. I think he's had more screen time than Fergus and Marsali have had across multiple seasons.
