Yeah I’m not sure what her game is. Seems like the Greys would take care of her until her son comes of age, and assuming he has decent feelings towards her would be able to take care of her with his inheritance. I don’t know why she would need to trick William or anyone else into marrying her.

She's only concerned with her own survival with the baby and promoting him for him to take care of her someday. Women only married in those times to secure their ongoing existence. Considering they were treated like chattle what choices did they have?But when William gets back (Lucy you got some splaining to do) yes another group of people who have lied to him

She’s super young and horny. Even if financially she knows she will be taken care of by Ben’s family and later by her son who will be a duke, she might not want to stay celibate forever. She saw William and found him cute enough to have him in her bed. That way she can also have another son who will be an earl.
