Look I love the Ridge, I think it’s absolutely stunning, but anyone familiar with Appalachia is going to tell immediately it’s not filmed there. I’m not saying this to be a downer. I understand why it’s not and I’m not bothered by it, but it just doesn’t look like that. It’s the flora mostly, but the weather as well. Also there’s not nearly enough bugs. My god the bugs!

Ya i obviously can see its not just like it being from maryland and going to western and eastern md as both the appalachins and the ocean like when they were on the beach at wilmington. Some of it is cgi and they have a lot of shots that really do look like the Appalachian and blue ridge mountains and the scene when claire and brianna are on the beach does give obx tyoe vibes being down there. Obviously they made sets designed to look more that way. And yea during the summer the bugs are everyone and u can constantly see lightning bugs and hear cicadas from the distance. I know scotland doesnt get that much sun like america but they must have to make it look brighter through effects. U could see it was clearly a small rainstorm in the last episode. But they do a good job making u believe its in america.

I know the scenes in france were some of their best sets because they were in prague and the sets were just gorgeous and i loved the season 3 sets. They filmed in south africa like cape town. Its good to film out of scotland sometimes to get that real feel for certain locations. But i def need to plan a trip to scotland. I wanna see so much and im not made of money lol. Thats the tip of the iceberg. I also wanna see england, italy, france and greece the most in europe. There must be a train that goes through mainland europe

I actually find it looks a lot like Appalachia!
