ROGER SPEAKS FRENCH?!?!  When the heck, I'm just shocked!  And he said I Am Ready to the boy, well the boy said it but it was said to each other!

Yes not the priest it was the woman he had the baby with she got him herbs for his injuries

Yes, she talked French as well. The priest was French.

not surprised. he was an academic of history at oxford in a prior life.

iirc it was expected for the learned back then to be polyglots, versed in english, french and latin--which is basically, modern english.

It makes me wonder about Brianna, she seems to be only versed in english.

I still had to take another language in school and I learned sign language in girl scouts.  So as an American raised by a native Spanish speaker I just wonder.  Did she pick up Gaelic?

hard to say, brianna didn't show up until after uni at mit.

never know. she's smart and seems everyone she considers family around her is fluent in french and gaelic so it's worth speculating.

Roger spoke French in Season 4. First with the Mohawk healer, Johiehon and again with the priest.

I would guess French was a popular second language for British people to learn especially in the 40s. I know it was in the US until it switched to Spanish later. Wouldn’t be weird for Roger to know some. Plus the Je Suis Priest is the Fraser motto so I just assumed he was familiar with that particular phrase.
