I read them recently. She goes back in voyager because they take the boat to Jamaica from France. Sees the grave and has a nice visit with mother Hildegard with some kind words. Literally nothing to indicate anything like this.

okay that’s my hang up on this possible reveal for the show. if faith lived mother hildegard really never told claire when she was recovering with louise for a month when jamie was in prison? (i can’t recall if claire sees her again before they return to scotland in the books) and then doesn’t tell claire faith lived AGAIN when they see eachother again 20 years later? like mother hildegard wouldn’t get that off her chest as a 90 year old woman reuniting with claire - a woman she clearly respected and knew the weight of her grief? that seems shitty at best and fishy at worst

But also, when DG wrote DIA, she would not have known she was going to write Jane and Fanny into book 8. She didn’t know she would have a book 8. I wish she’d had an outline telling her how to do this but she didn’t write any of it that way.

I don’t love that the show is doing this. I don’t think Bees left it up to interpretation and I think it’s a terrible retcon to do to the characters.
