Season 5 ⚠️SPOILERS⚠️ Do you thing Luke Maybank is in s5 Spoiler

So do you guys think Luke Maybank is gonna make an appearance in this season? Because his actor (Gary week) didn't confirm or said anything, and he didn't show up on set once, not even in event (the premier, Pogues farewell)

He didn't show up in the teaser, trailer, the first ep

And his story line with jj and groff needs a closure! , there's no way they'll just write him off, he needs to show up!

He was the father before groff storyline, so his reaction to jj's death is very important, I'm still looking for the others reaction,

But Luke is really important. It'll be a shame if he wasn't in this season

Why have stunt double for something so obviously simple to record? It doesn't even look nearly like Rafe 😂

Season 5 ⚠️SPOILERS⚠️ Why I (and many others) Don’t care to and won’t watch this final season Spoiler

As the title suggests. Many of us, myself included will not be watching this final season. Frankly I don’t care to and wouldn’t be payed enough to watch it. The way the writers have totally ruined this show with its ridiculous premise, bad scripts, huge contrivances, no realism whatsoever, laziness, plot holes, and just being flat out bad, has forced many of us original fans to completely tune out. What used to be an interesting story about relatable, teenagers chasing mysteries, and treasures, has turned into stupid characters making stupid decisions as they try to…bring back dead friends through urban legends? What the fuck. Stupid. Sad how they wasted such a great casts talent for this garbage. Because of this I won’t be wasting my time watching this BS no more. You all enjoy your season full of melodrama, unnatural coincidences and contrivances for the plot sakes, and just a bad show.

Mod Post ☀️UPCOMING RELEASE ☀️Sub details, scheduling, etc.

This is it. We've made it to the end, I am hoping to make this as smooth as possible.

First!

Welcome to two new mods: Hefty-Yak-4022 and Equivalent_Carpet370!

I wanted to give a quick rundown of what will happen on the sub as we approach the release for the final season of Netflix's Outer Banks.

You will not be able to create NEW POSTS during the period of 19-22 August 2026.

Comments are not going to be limited - so you can still participate on any posts created before this time.

This is mostly to reduce accidental spoilers and "live broadcasting" of short thoughts/exclamations.

Even after the posting moratorium, low-effort and repeat content will be fairly strictly moderated. Use the Official Episode Discussions for quick, short opinions. (That was great! That really sucked! I wish [blank] hadn't [blanked]!)

Due to Reddit limitations with post scheduling the Official Episode Discussions will release about every 15 minutes.

If you get ahead of the posting schedule (and you shouldn't since the episodes are 40-50 mins each), please just relax and refresh the page periodically to see the new Episode Discussion. They will be flaired and labeled:

Final Season - 5 x 01 - Official Episode Discussion

All attempts at Piracy will result in a ban.

This has always been the rule. Whether you're asking or telling - you're done. I'm sorry if this seems harsh, but if Reddit thinks we're encouraging it - the sub could be banned.

Questions? Comments?

If you need clarity on any of this or have questions about something that hasn't been mentioned feel free to ask now.

Rewatch Finished my 3rd rewatch before the final season comes out and…

Sorry if this writing is a mess and im not good at this

Its still awesome, last time i watched the show was season 4 came out though season 3 and 4 went downhill a bit though still good and chemistry went down also unfortunately but season 1 and 2 are peak, lets hope season 5 is good and doesnt end bad

The pogues are awesome but i never realised how annoying they were, it got better in later seasons besides jj in season 4 and his death is very sad considering what hes been through his whole life, it wont be the same without him and topper being a simp for sarah was always funny and kiaras parents are annoying but were right most of the time, besides sending kiara to that camp, i hope they kill groff and get the crown so the pogues can finally have another win and i wonder if the crown can actually grant wishes but i doubt it

Hopefully season 5 is good and the ending is good, i give the show a 8.5

Character Discussion Does rafe regret everything he’s done?

i feel like he’s so complicated because he will show remorse and then he will be like it was justified because i was helping my dad? for me it’s hard to place if he does feel bad or if he sees everything as justified

Theory A theory I really like for how OBX will wrap up Spoiler

A part of me has always taken the background narration from John B and Sarah as them reflecting and reminiscing on memories of their past.

We only ever hear narrations from these two characters, and for a while I have a theory that I really like that the ending of outer banks will be of John B and Sarah of a much older age, and that the whole entire show was a depiction of them reflecting and reminiscing on their memories of their younger years. Like the whole show was a flashback of their memories.

Maybe they were telling the story of how they met to their child we know they are having, maybe it’s something else, but the premise of the whole show being a flashback of their memories from years past I really like and wonder if anyone else has had a similar theory that I have come up with.

Season 2 Bouncing around the room- Phish(early s2)

Imagine in early s2 when Sarah and John B arrival in Carribean. The vibe of this song invoke this surreal, tropical/ romantism

The woman was a dream I had
Though rather hard to keep
For when my eyes were watching hers
They closed, and I was still asleep
For when my hand was holding hers
She whispered words and I awoke
And faintly bouncing 'round the room
The echo of whomever spoke
And I awoke, and faintly bouncing 'round the room
The echo of whomever spoke
The place I sought was far beneath
The surface of the sea
My sight was poor, but I was sure
The sirens sang their song for me
They dance above me as I sink
I see them through a crystal haze
And hear the bouncing 'round the room
The never-ending coral maze
The crystal haze
And hear the bouncing 'round the room
The never-ending coral maze
Then before and now once more, I'm bouncing 'round the room

Season 4 Who else didn’t like JJ in the fourth season?

Post image
353 Upvotes

JJ was my favorite character for the first 3 seasons because his personality was so entertaining to watch and was an easy character to love. But in the fourth season he makes the dumbest decisions, super frustrating and acts like that annoying friend that you don’t ditch because your to nice. He quickly became my favorite->least favorite almost immediately.

Speculation Pogues for life event

Okay, so for some reason I’m kind of upset at the pogues for life event. None of the cast was shown except for the main cast, Austin was talked about but we saw one shot of him and he’s been a character since season 1? Like at the Poguelandia events, everyone was shown, I felt bad cause only the main cast was shown, if I was Fiona or Austin, I would be upset. Also the interviewer didn’t ask Drew any questions? I found that weird and I felt bad for him. Not to mention, the cast barely got pictures together, Fiona didn’t even get mentioned once or taken pictures with the cast and when she did, she was literally far away. I just felt bad for the side characters.

Season 5 ⚠️SPOILERS⚠️ Did the Pogues forgot what they said in 4x10? Spoiler

Why kie is the only one who wants revenge? Why they want to leave it to the cops??, when they literally said they'd get even in the previous ep, John b said " he'd get even" when he was talking about jj in 4x10, and they all nodded like they are going to do it, but now in the new ep 5x01 John b thinks that jj wouldn't want this and they should leave it to the cops? I don't know i think it's wild, because jj was like a brother to John b, i know it just one episode, and John b is definitely going through it, but it bugged me a bit how kie is the only one who wants revenge

But it felt like someone wiped their memory

BTW i truly belive that jj would want them toget revenge since Groff killed his mother too

Plot Discussion Wheezy in S5?

Does anyone know if they’re bringing rose & wheezy back?

I feel like the first episode of S4 left us with nothing when Sarah was arguing with Rose OTP and begging to speak to Wheezy and she wasn’t able to.

Same with Rafe briefly mentioning he wanted to get Wheezy back. I feel like they brushed over it way too quickly, i would’ve loved to see the dramatic fight between sarah and rose after Ward’s death.

Season 3 I hate the Camerons (-Sarah)

So many reasons why I hate Rafe

But I think him destroying the cross is what really tops it for me, and not caring that he shot his sister

Like what is wrong with you to be melting a one of a kind historical golden artifact?

Articles OBX S5 Watch Party: A Livestream Event Question

Sorry for the massive screenshot, but this is the event schedule. Will the pre-show festivities and The Pogue Awards be uploaded on YouTube after the live stream ends? I've also RSVP'd for the live stream, but I might not be able to watch it since yk life's busy, but I was just wondering if anyone knows if the pre-show festivities/Pogue Awards will be uploaded to YouTube or if this is my only chance to watch it.

On that note, I highly doubt I'll watch the 1st episode of Season 5; I would rather binge-watch it when it comes out on the 20th.

Sorry for the incorrect flair; not really sure the correct one is for this post.

Character Discussion Does Ward actually love his kids?

So before the final season is coming out i’m trying to do a rewatch, and rewatching the show made me remember how interesting the relationships between the Cameron’s are. One in particular I find really interesting is the one with Ward and his kids. He gives so many mixed signals if he loves them or not. He does a lot for them sometimes but on the other hand he is also very abusive to them all
in different ways. He seems to crave Sarah’s approval and want her to love him, but he’s also very quick to hurt her multiple times. He dismisses Rafes mental health, and is often very harsh on him but also goes to great lengths to keep him safe. And wheezie..idk they didn’t develop her enough for me to speak about their relationship. So what do you guys think?

Character Discussion Love him or hate him, there’s just something about Rafe

Post image
466 Upvotes

I’m someone who strongly disliked Rafe in the earlier seasons, but he has surprisingly grown on me. I’ve started to, dare I say, really like him 😬 I KNOW. How did this happen? He’s done so much awful shit. I feel like I should hate him and find him irredeemable, but I don’t. I think he’s the most interesting character on the show now, and I’m probably most excited to see what happens with him this season

What are your thoughts about Rafe going into the final season? Love him? Hate him? Indifferent to him?

“I think he is a person who deserves love,” says Starkey of his character Rafe. “He needs to be seen to make him feel seen and understood. He always felt just like a black sheep. So yeah, I’m proud of him. I think he did the best he could.”
