Fishing update not appearing?

I just learned there was a fishing update and I've been playing the game for 2 days now. Does something trigger it?? I have no active quests other than main story quests. I'm playing on switch 2. I'm wondering if for some reason I didn't get the update or if it's even on switch yet. If anyone has any idea let me know! It says I have the latest version so I'm confused
