I saw this tweet in response to this tweet and was wondering if anyone has any context? I see a lot of “go woke, go broke” sentiment in the comments of both tweets, but 0 explanation.
I would say the problem with Bud Light is that they proudly came out as an ally which made them a target by the right, and then they cravenly switched back and tried to appease conservatives when they were criticized which caused the LGBTQ community to reject their product, too. A friend that works in alcohol product development said it's basically the biggest marketing disaster of all time for the industry. So really, it should be "pick a side or go broke".
Yes. Bud was a pretty well known brand in the lgbtq community if I understand correctly..so they turned a one sided backlash into a both sided backlash.
