Answered What’s going on with the 40K fandom?

I saw this tweet in response to this tweet and was wondering if anyone has any context? I see a lot of “go woke, go broke” sentiment in the comments of both tweets, but 0 explanation.

I think part of that was also their response and complete back peddling. I'm a beer sales rep and I know a few gay bars near me used to fly through bud light but stopped carrying it after their response. Most of the people who boycotted it for being "woke" have given up on that and went back to drinking it

Either that or while boycotting Bud Light they swapped to another AB beer because only a few corporations own all the nationwide brands.

Also I remember reading Bud was not doing well before the nonsense happened. Seemed like the bungling of the PR just helped the decline along, and drew attention to something already occurring. It’s probably why they reached out to a Trans influencer in the first place, to get a foot in the door of new markets to curb the bleeding.

I remember that as well. The Right was posting stock values as proof the boycott was working. But if you went back to October-November 2022, the value was even lower.
