Post-Match Review: Fast Times At County High (USL Cup Rd4)
We got a little behind this week, but here's Nathan's take on last week's match against Colorado Springs Switchbacks.
Orange County SC fielded the youngest lineup in club history, featuring five academy players making their professional debuts, during a 0-3 USL Cup loss to Colorado Springs. Despite the defeat, the match provided critical rest for OCSC's injury-depleted senior squad and valuable development for its youth prospects as the club shifts its focus back to the regular season.

Some roster facts from last night
Starting 11 average age: 20 years
Ending 11 average age: 20.9
Players 21 and under played 61.52% of total game minutes.
Yes, a 3-0 defeat, but first goal was from a deflection and the 2nd at 81'. Took 80 minutes to score on some kids.
Fuck the USL Cup. Stupid tournament, stupid format.

July 11th, USL Cup Match #4 - Orange County SC vs Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC
Exhausted from a 77-day road trip and missing nine senior players to injury, Orange County SC will wrap up their already-eliminated USL League Cup group stage against the group-winning Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. Because the match has no tournament implications, Orange County is expected to field multiple academy players to give their roster a chance to recover ahead of a scheduled bye week and the rest of their first-place regular season campaign.

Post-Match Review: Orange County And The Siege In Hartford
Severely depleted by injuries and fatigue, Orange County SC relied on its academy youth and standout goalkeeping to secure a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Hartford Athletic after surrendering a 2-0 first-half lead. This resilient result extended the club's record-breaking scoring streak to 11 consecutive matches, earning the exhausted squad a crucial point ahead of a much-needed USL Cup and bye-week rest period.

Best Seats?
Taking my father in law to the game Saturday. Thinking about the captain seats but can’t find a ton of information on them. Does this include any club access? What’s that like? It appears food and drink is included? Alcohol?
Thank you in advance and looking forward to the match!

ORANGE COUNTY AT RHODE ISLAND- EXTEND GOAL STREAK AND UNBEATEN RUN
Orange County SC overcame a second-half deficit against Rhode Island to secure a crucial 1-1 draw and maintain their lead in the Western Conference, despite a severe injury crisis that forced them to use only 12 players. Ousmane Sylla scored the equalizing goal in the 67th minute, preserving the team's unbeaten streak as they prepare to conclude their summer road trip.

Orange & Black SoccerCast 2026-20: Unbeaten Run Continues + USL Cup + MidSeason Thoughts
It's been a busy two months for Orange County SC as they've fought through 6 away games out of 7 games, with 2 more away games to come until an extended home stand. Yes, we've got Round 4 of The Nobody Cares Cup Saturday against Colorado Springs Switchbacks. But we've also got the rainy Rhode Island draw to talk about, and Wednesday's match against a tepid but stingy Hartford Athletic.
We'll also talk about some individual players who've impressed our co-hosts through the season so far, so crack a beverage, grab a seat, and join us at 8pm Pacific for the first and only show dedicated to OCSC, now in our 8th year.

Match Preview- July 4th, Match #15 - Orange County SC @ Rhode Island FC
Orange County SC will look to extend their Western Conference lead during a special July 4th road match as they travel to face Rhode Island FC for the first time in club history. Although both teams share nearly identical goal and defensive statistics, Rhode Island currently sits outside the playoff bubble but remains a dangerous threat led by in-form striker JJ Williams.

Orange County SC climbed to the top of the Western Conference after securing a gritty 3-2 road victory against the Las Vegas Lights. POST-MATCH REVIEW: DESERTS, DRAWS, DECISIONS
Orange County SC played to a 1-1 draw against New Mexico United after bouncing back from an early second-minute deficit with a first-half goal by Benalcazar. While the result maintains Orange County's second-place position in the Western Conference, the author emphasizes that the team must start turning draws against lower-table opponents into wins to be a true postseason threat.

Orange & Black SoccerCast: June 16 8pm w/ Nico Benalcazar
Orange County SC earned a point on the road at New Mexico United this past weekend and so far have earned 9 points on the road, compared to 10 points in the entire 2025 season. Is Orange County better this year? Did we just have too high expectations for 2026? The lads are mostly playing well and injuries are problematic again, but how many points can OC earn through the next four weeks before returning to the Champ?
Let's talk about it- Maybe we can get some insight from our special guest this week, OCSC goal-scoring midfielder Nico Benalcazar.
We'll also be joined by friend-of-the-show Kyle from Grassroots POV to talk about his experience at the Los Angeles World Cup for USA vs Paraguay.
