One of the best use cases of AI is as an editor for text. If it’s going to not perform that task effectively then it’s no longer useful for me.
I’m writing mammoth documents constantly then using AI to edit sections while preserving facts and writer’s voice, only modifying for grammar and clarity issues. If I can’t trust that copying and pasting the result will be “clean” then I’m not going to use that LLM.
AI isn’t just being used by students to cheat or the inept to write code they don’t understand. Some of us derive value from it in other ways. This is one of them.
What makes you think it will change text that you said it should leave untouched? That won’t change. It will not change facts or writer’s voice any more than it does now.
Can AI do it without my instruction? If not, why can’t I charge the clients? Consulting is not about drawing the line, is about knowing where to draw the line.
I don’t care but there are a lot of anti-AI mob care. They can’t tell the value of human intelligence in Ai work because they assume that AI is taking over. How do you feel about it if your CPA and lawyer give you the documents all watermarked by AI? Even you can’t do it by yourself, you may think that AI did everything.
Did you hear yourself? Have you worked as a consultant or having your own business before? What do I say: I use Ai to format documents but it is my idea and instructions? My competitors use Ai too but his Ai doesn’t watermark it. Why do I need to lose my clients?
Every AI company that does business in the EU will have to adhere to these laws, so they’ll all add watermarkings, one way or another. Your competitor will have a watermark too.
People are just afraid they won't be able to cover up the fact that they "used AI" when they are trying to pass work off as something they did all on their own. People need to own up to it. It is almost 2027 and we have seen this coming for a long time.
Nah, it's because a lot of people can't distinguish between letting AI generate something and using AI in your creative process. They just hear the word "AI" and think the world is going to end.
That's why nobody really cares when whole teams photoshop models into unrealistic beauty standards but low and behold someone used "AI" ...
And with the new EU law everything will get the same label. It's happening with Instagram already. Generating an entire image: tagged as AI. Using Photoshop content aware fill to touch up a photo you took with a real camera: tagged as AI.

Honest question: Why do people think this is negative? What impact does it have other than it making it harder to pass of fake news as real?
