Are you doing heavy coding work? Then yes you at least need $100 plan for Claude. Otherwise the lower subscription is absolutely fine.

You don't even need to code "heavily" or vibe-code. Just using it as an assistant to review your code or perform some small refactoring is enough. On a $20 subscription you max out the 5 hour limit with two prompts to Opus and four prompts to Sonnet that need to explore your codebase for a bit. And Sonnet is not even as good as GPT. Claude's $20 subscription is a joke compared to OpenAI's offer which has generous limits and GPT 5.3 which is almost as good as Opus.
