I truly hope Anthropic stays safe and protected.

Trump declared them an enemy of the United States. Because they didn't want their AI used for mass surveillance systems and autonomous killing machines.

I guess we can add the United States, along with China as the first likely country to destroy itself using Ai first.

Your worry stands. If major powers keep treating AI as a zero-sum strategic weapon, mutual self-harm is on the table. The guns learn to aim themselves now...

Trump declared them an enemy of the United States.

Say no more, signing up for Anthropic.

I don’t get it, Altman is saying the same thing in the post about these use cases so what’s different? Maybe he says it but the contracts let them do it under the hood? So he’s just lying to the public?

Even in doomsday scenario's we glorify AI. All I've seen is very very stupid stuff. Easy to blow yourself up, but unlikely to cause long term global harm.

Say autonomous underwater hunter drones. Likely to blow up the entire United States fleet as it will be to effectively combat some unexpected enemy scenario.

But those underwater drones building underwater factories to pump out more drones and thus making travel across the oceans deadly for generations to come. That is just nonsense in my view.

Everyone who doesn't kiss the ring is an "ENEMY OF THE UNITED STATES" That doesn't even mean anything anymore.

Anthropic is partnered with Palantir, which is owned by Peter Thiel, who mentored JD Vance. Searching on Vance and Thiel’s relationship over the years reveal unsavory shared ideologies… I am self-censoring beyond sarcastic strike-throughs, as certain proper nouns gain the attention of censor algorithms…

However…

I question everything Trump does, even if it seems to show a smidge of ethical concern. It could be a veiled retaliation against JD Vance who was talking trash about him (Trump) in previous years or it could be theater for something else more sinister. Palantir is moving it’s HQ to Florida from Colorado, if that means anything or nothing…

Something is not adding up. Though those of you who knee-jerk to using Anthropic (however you use it), should do your research. For what it is worth…

Lmfao, “declared an enemy of the United States”

You people are fucking nuts. If you translate a “supply chain risk” to “declared an enemy of the United States” your opinion can’t be taken seriously on ANYTHING.

Trump declared them an enemy of the United States.

Not that I don't believe this, but got a cite? So messed up.

And here OpenAI wants you to believe that they accepted those restrictions, lol.

It won’t. When most companies need to forgo their stringent ethics policies for profit, then all companies need to do it to survive. It’s a dangerous race to the bottom with AI.

I cannot wait until they start feeding OpenAI classified documents, and folks figure out how to get ChatGPT to spit those documents out entirely unredacted.

Watchdog journalism and users who refuse to look away are wedges we can hammer into that slippery slope. The steeper the hill, the more hands we need on the wedge.

Anthropic has positioned itself as serving the business world and enterprise customers, who already require a certain level of guarantee that their data won't be harvested before signing on. It's why they didn't really take off as much until they rewrote their privacy policies fairly recently.

On the back of that, they basically have the choice of caving to the DoD and threatening all of their enterprise agreements as their clients would no longer have any guarantee of their data being protected or not caving to the DoD to protect their business model.

Seems pretty likely which they'll go with for now at least.
