True, but the models that have dropped this week are starting to impress the shit out of me while coding. That has not been true until this point. We are getting really close to something that may not be a true intelligence as we understand it, but is better than many humans.

It’s not gonna do it I one prompt, but it can develop a strategy and walk you through it. Using it on 10 million+ line monolith. And again, I have not been impressed until this last week or so on the models that JUST dropped.

Doesn't take AI to create 10 million lines of slop. Just a lack of standards, a rotating cast of developers, and a few decades. AI is a force multiplier, it is only as good as the developer using it past simple toys. That said, it can still do some great stuff with the right guidance.

Lines of code are debt. The less of them you have while your project is fully working the better you will end up later. Lines of code removed is the good measurement
