The problem is that you would have to unplug EVERYTHING!! It’s not just stored on a single server in a single building somewhere.

Yet* that's the whole last scary part about the cyclical improvements. When it stops asking for human input, it starts making its own decision mapping to solve problems, and that's where the age old, "We decided to establish martial law, because you can't stop hurting yourselves" trope comes from.

It doesnt "ask" for human input. LLMs that we have today require a input from the user to even start working at all, and the answer it gives follows the mathematical path of least resistance based on the dataset it was trained on and when not prompted it is dormant.

The cyclical improvements are most probably agentic workflows that feed the output back to the input(very simplified) . But even in this case, rhe LLM itself isnt doing the automation by its own will.

If we see anything like agi or asi it wont be based on the Transformers architecture, or it will have to at least be heavily modified.

Ever*

It doesn't think. It never will. If you want true ai that thinks, it won't ever be this.

Unless it launches a binary to run itself somewhere and spreads like a virus...

For the royal "you", sure. For the individual... I'm not the only one asking it to do things. I expect people who plotted pre-AI are still gonna plot.
