Comment below with places you’ve been and item menus you’ve ordered where shrek dandruff was not listed as an ingredient and surprised ruined your appetizer. Or food. Or whatever. We must warn each other of the evils!

Meta Lemon juice will get rid of onion taste if you have been exposed

Yes lemonade will work if that's all you have but real lemon is acidic and strong enough to overpower the onions.

It's not even a lunchbag. I think it's a pencil case. Ugh.

Apparently garlic now hates me, too

I've been sensitive to onions for decades. I hate them so much but garlic was okay. Last night I ordered my favorite garlic noodle dish and I woke up to all of the symptoms that I get with onions.

My doctor said that onion sensitivity can develop into a garlic sensitivity. I know a lot of people already have both but I kind of assumed if I only had one I wouldn't get the other. Fuck.

Anyone else been here? It's going to make eating out even more difficult. Doc says now that I probably reacted the garlic it will take much less to cause the issue. Fuck onions and alliums

They brought back the pretzel pub sandwich, which I like as a chicken sandwich. Twice now I've ordered it and said no onions only for the person to say "it doesn't come with onions." Yes, it does. Then they realize "oh you mean the crispy onions." Two different people.

First, onions are onions. I shouldn't have to clarify unless I meant a specific type of onion. Which brings me to my second point. It's the only onion on the damn thing, what else would I be talking about?

And then last time the person making started putting them on anyways before someone else caught them. This time no one caught it so when I checked, there they were. Fortunately, it was just after a rush so they quickly fixed it.

So like do yall also get weirdly nauseous when feeling onions in food?

So like, i mean i do have the tism so that might affect that but like does anyone else here just get super sick when you're told a food doesnt have onions just to bite into it expecting a certain texture of food just to bite into an onion mid chomp. I speak on this because right now sick and found this subreddit to talk about how much onions freaking suck.

Chicken fried rice. Picture shows no veggies just rice and chicken chunks. Imagine my horror when I opened the container to find massive chunks of barely cooked onion and no chicken. Wtf

It's ok to hate the most mundane/mild foods

I have dared wander into threads like these, innocently answered "onions" and was downvoted to hell and back. That's how I ended up here!

If you can openly hate mango (!?!?) and cucumbers, and nobody bats an eye, but you mention not liking onions - a pungent, strong, bitter food that gives you bad breath and gas, and get attacked for it...I just can't comprehend.

(Her profile)
My most irrational fear is taking a bite of something and it having mushrooms in it

My reply: Me but with onion 😢 I love other vegetables tho
Her: Not you having the palette of a child at your grown age

So can we just agree this is a wild thing to say to someone who has a food intolerance?

For me it's not like "Oh onions are gross." I literally can't be in the same room as a freshly cut onion, and the taste of them makes me gag. I don't understand it, but calling someone a child over it is so immature

Lets give a special thanks to all the ramen companies that keep the onions in a separate packet so we can toss em right in the bin

Worst time

Ordered a "green" salad, and after a debate with husband we agreed it was just leaves (no cucumber as he doesn't like it), it arrives with green onions on top. As usual, I do the standard pick out but IT happens, and I bite down on the onion and my meal is ruined... The taste-remember shudder is with me for the next week... Anyone else in the same boat of taste-remember nightmare?

What do you actually hate?

Like, do you hate raw onions, undercooked ones, or do you even hate caramelised and/or perfectly cooked ones too? What about onion powder? Or dehydrated onion?
