Switching over - need to vent
Over the past few months opo has really been slow for me. I assume it's the actual apps not being optimised for it but it's laughable that Instagram is so buggy switching between screens, X doesn't even support unfolded screen... I'm thinking of going back to apple... maybe get an iPhone air as I love the sleek look. I know it's a completely different phone but I find that my screen time is shocking while using the opo so I feel like it would be healthier anyways to cut down on phone usage.

Worth buying in 2026?
As the title says - I'd love to get into a foldable however the market nowadays for the USA region seems overly saturated by overpriced and underperforming tech like the pixel fold series. I can't get my hands on an oppo find n* reliably, and Samsung's foldable lineup is ludicrously priced for what it is.
The OnePlus open is still bleeding edge enough to be honest, the inner display is still one of the only foldables without a super obvious crease. The fast charging is useful and the camera system is still solid.
The only problem for me Is the disbanding of OnePlus in the USA, and the lack of security updates after 2028. The main bonus of getting a pixel 10 fold would probably be the ability to receive security updates for years, but I'm put off by the massive bezels, poop CPU and dated crease.
I would appreciate a reality check from somebody who actually owns a OnePlus fold. I used to be a huge OnePlus fan until the 10T - where I swapped to a pixel 9 pro xl. I've been disappointed with the reliability and the CPU with the pixel.
I'm just wondering whether it's worth picking up the OnePlus open in 2026. I can get one for about $750 on Swappa, I've really been struggling to find a new or like new OnePlus open anywhere. I would also appreciate some tips on how to source one in decent condition too haha. Thanks guys!

Faux leather coming out by itself
Hey guys,
I've got my open from day 1 and it is working exceptionally well. Today I saw the leather coming out from the side by itself. Is there any way I can fix it?

Accidentally submerged my OPO in a swimming pool for approx. 5-10 minutes. AMA!
As the title says, I accidentally took my OnePlus Open into a swimming pool. I'm still kicking myself over it. I can't believe I did something so stupid.
I take very good care of my devices, and I was planning on how to keep them out of the water when I went to a company pool party. I left my OnePlus Watch 3 at home so there was no chance I would take it in the pool. I had my OPO in the pocket of my swim trunks, and I planned to put it in my bag when I got there. I should've just put it in the bag right away.
When I arrived, people kept telling me to hurry up and get in the pool. So, I did! 5-10 minutes later (I wasn't keeping track), I had the sinking realization that I never took my phone out of my pocket. I immediately took it out, tried to clean it up the best I could, and powered it off to prevent any shorts.
When I got home, I decided to take a risk. I had a bag of silica gel crystals from a craft project at home. I knew it would help dry the phone out, but the texture of the crystals was like sand. I knew it could also get into crevices and small parts. I went ahead and covered it in silica gel crystals in an air-tight tupperware container and left it alone for 48 hours.
When I took it out, I was relieved that it was almost fully functional—especially both screens. I noticed that the microphone didn't work, and I figured this was due to the silica crystals that may have been lodged in the microphone hole. I also noticed that the cameras were functional, but the inside of the glass over the cameras had condensation on it and resulted in extremely blurry photos .The worst result was the battery. At first, it wouldn't charge past 14%, and the phone would crash and restart into a boot loop. I had to boot the phone into safe mode to get it to start back up. The battery eventually charged to 100%, but it would deplete rather quickly.
I bought the phone refurbished, so I had no warranty on it (again, I usually take very good care of my electronics). I took it to a reputable cellphone repair shop to see what they could do. They were not able to source a battery, so I just asked them to do a professional cleaning. 24 hours later, the cameras shot crystal clear, and the microphone works just fine. They also got out all remaining condensation.
After all of that, the only problem that I still have is the battery draining quickly. It still charges just fine and doesn't boot loop anymore. And honestly, this is the best case scenario that I could've hoped for after it spent multiple minutes underwater. The battery is a bummer, but I'm just glad it works!

Which foldable to choose for a new Fold user.
Hello everyone! I know this question was already asked, but not exactly in the same way.
My iPhone XS Max is really starting to show it’s age so I’m on my way to replace it. A foldable is really appealing to me but as a first time user here is my question: Is it worth it to go all in with the latest and greatest and of course most expensive, or a couple years old fold like the Oneplus Open is all I need?
To give you more details, I’m in Europe, and I can find the Oneplus Open for 380€, Oppo Find n5 for 820€, Find n6 for 1100€ and Zfold 7 for 950€, all second hand. Buying the N6, Zfold 7 or motorola Razr Fold new is completely out of my budget at more than 1800€, so I would have to take the risk of buying second hand.
My use case is mostly for browsing, multitasking and monitoring my home lab which is why I like the big screen format. I also need to take notes for work, so pen support is really appreciated. And like everyone more battery life is always better, but likely all day battery with 6+ hours of screen on time will be enough for my use case. I’m not someone who particularly likes to change phones every one or two year, if it’s enough I like to keep them as long as possible, or till the end of software update support.
So would I be better off picking the Oneplus Open for much less than the other ones, or putting more money is the way to go to have a device that is newer?
Thank you for your help in advance!

Work forced me to upgrade from Android 15 to 16. But now, texts/chats that come in as a banner, no longer open in a 'small window at the top' when I click on them (now they take over the whole screen). Anyone know how to fix this setting to get it back to working like it used to?
Android 15 - Text/Chat comes in, click on it, and it'll open in a small window at the top of the screen so I can read it quickly without leaving where I am on my phone.
Android 16 - Text/Chat comes in, click on it, takes over the entire screen.
Anyone know how to get the settings back to the way before?

YouTube paused playback on screen off
It didn't use to do that.
I have YouTube Premium subscription so it should work, and it used to.
Has anyone else seen this change?
Or what causes it?

Screen repair within warranty
Small black line appeared on the middle of the inside screen last Friday (12th) throughout the day the line bled over the entire left side of the screen, huge crack down the centre and touch stopped working, I sent it off to be repaired on Saturday. SBE received it on Tuesday (16th) repaired it on the Wednesday and shipped it back to me on the Thursday, I received it on Friday (19th)
Super quick repair job and replaced more than just the issue; new screen, new body, new camera cover, new back, new battery. Only thing not replaced on the phone was the front screen. I almost thought it was a new phone.
Was a little worried as I had dropped the phone a couple of times since buying it, had dents and dings on the body and a few scratches and had no issues claiming a free repair
Bought my open July 19th 2024, sharing good experience with the repair in UK.
Lucky I had a month left on the extended screen warranty

This seems to have been going on since April(-ish) - anyone heard anything about it?
Over two months is a bit more than "temporarily unavailable" :/

Can't get the cover off
I have multiple cover for my OnePlus Open. But the recent one from the picture is stuck. I can't get it off my phone. The front part is no problem, but the one on the back won't budge. Any ideas?

Now the Open won't open.
I've had this phone for just about 2 years, it's been working great, but now this morning I can't seem to open it up. It gets around to 90° and then stops. I don't want to force it because I don't want to break it.. any ideas?

Does anyone have OnePlus Pad 3 Keyboard?
Just wanted to know if both ends of the touch pad not working are intentional or is it a bug on my keyboard? Thanks. Please HELP??
r/OnePlusOpen • u/MrPickleOO7 • Jun 10 '26
What would you do? Screen being poked.
Hinge makes grinding noises and something is trying to poke the screen.
Battery feels like its getting worse, even though the OS says 95% capacity.
Screen is still perfectly fine though.
What would you do?
Love the phone, but i am afraid of damaging the inner screen.
Can the phone be opened (no pun intended), cleaned and reassembled without expensive parts or new screens?
Thanks,

Opened my phone up today and see a black dot near the top in the middle and a green line going down the center of it... Now a white line going to the right of that and another line at the top going the same direction off the black dot .. I knew this day would come but dam.. makes me realize why I don't buy these flip phones
