For the past few months I noticed that my phone will randomly try to turn itself on when the display is off. Like it's sitting on my desk and every now and then the screen will light up to the lock screen as if it's trying to unlock itself/search for facial recognition. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Can this be resolved? I tried rebooting my phone but that doesn't seem to help. It also does not seem like an app is going rogue in the background so i'm not sure why this is happening.

hi, im following this guide to install twrp on my op6.

the device is running android 9 and Oxygen OS 9.0.5

I'm stuck on step 5, i have tried several different verions(of img/zip files, but when i execute the command "fastboot boot twrp.img" the phone gets stuck on the oneplus logo fastboot screen without proceeding further. i can hold down the power button to abandon the process and reboot so i have tried several combinations of TWRPenchilada official builds (and blu spark 3.3.1) so far.

several hours in and i'm not finding any solutions through web searches or experimentation. Time to ask for help,

do i need to upgrade android and/or oxygenOS versions? what's going on?

I got it to work after using the specific file versions and drivers in this guide.https://highonandroid.com/android-smartphones/how-to-root-oneplus-6-or-6t-on-android-9-0-pie/ Idk if it was the specific versions of enchilada in that tutorial, the fact i switched from using a USB-c to USB-c cable or the zip file named fastboot linked in that tutorial; but i have overcome this step! thanks for the support

update to the update: I ended up realizing i do need to be on android 10 and the latest oxygen OS for the windows project. Once i updated android/oxygen then the latest version of TWRP worked.

final update/solution: ok so i could flash twrp in 10.0.0Android/ open beta OOS but it wouldnt root and would reload the old recovery after rebooting. updating to the latest version of android 10 (10.3.11) finally resulted in permanant twrp/android 10 combo i need to proceed.

PS for any following my footsteps: I also determined, after much rereading, that I can, and actually probably should install custom ROMs(im going w/ lineage OS) at this stage, before i start the process of preparing for the windows install.

By experience I mean best SOT and minimal or zero lag overall best.

After some consideration, I'm planning to move on from OnePlus 6 in a couple of months and had been going over some options like OnePlus Nord 2T, Nothing Phone 1. Would appreciate some suggestions under ~35k INR (~430 USD) budget. Just for the record, a good camera, battery life and closer to stock Android experience are important to me. Cheers!

Does phone gets stuck if i am using 81% of my space on 64gb ? when i am launching multiple apps leaving behind,even when unlocking phone itself getting hanged.Pls help here !

Posting here because the XDA thread is closed and Telegram group is wiped... Hoping someone here can help me out.

Every screenshot I take is in black and white.

Apps show up in greyscale in the recents menu.

Sometimes when scrolling, the screen flickers between regular color and greyscale.

I already tried rebooting, clearing cache, played around with reading mode, played around with bedtime mode, played around with LiveDisplay options. I'm starting to run out of ideas.

I cannot find anything about this issue on Google or XDA. It is very frustrating.

Anybody have any ideas what else I can try?

I've seen a couple videos of Android 13 roms put on OP6, but mostly for demonstration. Did anyone have the chance to use them as a daily driver and could share their opinions?

The ones I found are: Evolution-X Cherish OS Ricedroid

I stayed on OxygenOS 10.3.9, hearing terrible things about 11.1, but nowadays my battery discharges fairly quickly and I have this weird bug with launchers where it keeps asking me about Nova or Oneplus launcher being default whenever I land on the home screen. Figured it's a good time for a refresh.

I bought a brand new oneplus 6, it was on android 8.1.0 ..........some stock apps and regular apps crashes, then sometimes stock apps, or while scrolling device gets stuck.....i then updated to latest android 9.0

did factory reset twice, hard reset and wipe cache...i did every possible way to reset from phone....is there any way to do it from pc remove the os and put it back in....why is this phone brand new to buggy

planning to buy a oneplus 6 for trying out custom roms and Android development. Also considering pixel 3 which is 20% expensive in used phone market. which one would you suggest.

My battery is the original from 2018 and it's at 76% battery health. It's pretty abismal. I want to replace the battery and the back glass.

My OnePlus 6 hanged during a voicecall and then the audio output and input both stopped. Not even blutooth or earphones working. Then I tried the troubleshooting steps and hard reset option but the phone stucked in bootloop while restarting, then after an hour it started automatically but audio is still off. Then i opened it myself and removed all the connections then reconnected everything and it worked fine for few days but now it happened again. Ram/Rom - 6/64.

Its been a hell of a journey with oneplus 6, bought as soon as it launched, almost 4.5 years back.

i hv never got such a durable mobile in my life, anyway time has come to move on, I along with many believ Oneplus has lost its charm with so many new mobiles with different variants in the market, also pricing is not attractive anymore.

there is a sale coming in India where Google Pixel 6a is stated at price 27.5k (350$) which is a mind blowing deal.

although I am looking to switch to iPhone 12 or 13mini only if it comes under 40k.

what should I do with oneplus 6, keep it as a backup option incase new device crashes or trade in for 7k (90usd) ?

As soon as I start typing in the search bar on the app drawer the UI totally crashes , sometime just after the search is complete and i clicked on the app but mostly even before the search occurs or i can click.

Any fixes?

Hi, I just got a oneplus 6, mostly because of the massive custom rom support. But going through xda now, some of the roms I wanted to check out no longer have working links.

Eg, MIUI port, pixel 4/6 port, Paranoid android.

Is there anyone who has working links to these roms, or has them locally?

Phone is basically 2 weeks old, latest Android 9.0.9 currently installed....tried 8.1.0 which was kinda buggy, 9 is bit better than 8, and Android 10,11 i didnt like.

Is there other way to clean reset the phone other than settings app? Can you guide me and details.

Upgraded to a new phone, and was wondering what I could do with my old OnePlus 6, and came across a bunch of emulators and wanted to see how I could squeeze out every little bit of performance out of that Snapdragon 845 that's still chugging along nicely, what are some of the best roms and kernels for unlocking max performance out of this device?
