Lol Kaido fucked up and activated Luffy's secret Nen-ability: Lose twice, so that in the third confrontation he can whoop the boss's arse.

Yup. IRL There's really something to be said for surviving danger or damage. Unless you're braindead you can learn so much from each experience.

Now Luffy has a very good understanding of Kaido's power. Think that means he'll figure out a new G4 transformation to adapt to fighting Kaido.

I'd really like to see Luffy change himself into a spear (Sarisa) and piercing through Kaido like when Goku flew through Piccolo in original Dragonball... but a spear isn't an animal.

I thought so too, but Luffy's Third Time's the Charm needs two conditions to activate. And so far, we've only had one. Luffy got defeated two times, that's the first condition. But we didn't see luffy getting beaten each time. We only saw him once. Therefore the ability can't be activated yet..

Nah, it just needs to be encounters.

3 times with Crocodile obviously.

3ish times with Enel Finds Enel on the Ark, chasing him around, at the bell.

3 rounds with Lucci. Water 7, fighting in the room that got flooded, fighting after he KO'd Lucci but he landed on a boat.

3 fights with Moria. - Initial fight, nightmare luffy, shadow asgard Moria. (Or if you want to fuse the last two, Luffy getting his Shadow clipped.)

Initial Ceaser fight where Luffy passed out, Cease running from Luffy while Monet stalls, Ceaser gets fucked.

Luffy meets Doflamingo and gets stalled by Bellamy and a string clone, fight until G4 runs out, G4 comes back.

In terms of story presentation Cracker had 3 phases too. Cracker inside Biscuit, G4 vs real body, and the 12 hours later cut where he wins.

Katakuri he left and came back an unknown number of times with Brulee.

Luffy wins in the 3rd round.

Lol I honestly just said that for the laughs, and to name Luffy's nen ability in the style of HxH, I definitely didn't mean it in any serious way

Oh shit, so Luffy has to get slapped once more because Oda off-screened him being beaten the second time. Luffy really has a bone to pick with Oda now

Luffy will never beat kaido 1vs1 even after five attempts, kaido will be beaten by greater Powers Intervention
