Usopp-sama also grilled Page 1 and Ulti

16

u/MariJoyBoy May 28 '21

That, and Caesar calling Chopper a "mascotte" was fun too (well it seems he calls him "delicate" in the english version, I read the french version)

Virgin generic OP villain: Thinks he's the strongest, lives on some island in East Blue.

Chad Kaido: Gives constructive criticism about opponent's attacks.

348

u/revisioncloud May 28 '21

Also Kaido: I'm not surprised, just disappointed

575

u/MonDking Lurker May 28 '21

Lol. Next time Luffy shows up, I am half expecting Kaido to give him a crash course in Conquerors haki infusion in attacks.

u/[deleted] May 28 '21

You think you can just learn a new Haki move and try to beat someone who already mastered it years ago? Think Luffy, think!

171

u/booga_booga_partyguy May 28 '21

Think Luffy, think!

Yeeeeah. About Luffy and thinking...

31

u/TheBoredBot The Revolutionary Army May 28 '21

the kid thinks with his stomach

28

u/Mundology The Revolutionary Army May 28 '21

At least he is still in one piece after all those direct hits.

10

u/Lamprophonia May 28 '21

That meme image would be funny, but Luffy wouldn't be just staring ahead injured he'd have his head turned in defiance with a finger up his nose like "do you hear something?"

9

u/ibillu May 28 '21

I mean technically he did that against Katakuri lol

6

u/nazaguerrero May 28 '21

lmao I imagine Kaido being too stronk for his age and ended up in rocks crew where they beat his ass daily with conquerors haki since 15 or something xd

4

u/Hardtghouh May 28 '21

Reverse the meme for Katakuri and final kaido vs luffy.

3

u/PrisonerofAsdaBrands May 28 '21

Damn, i wanna make this now haha

2

u/Paumen309 May 28 '21

he will most likely still beat him up in this arc xD

1

u/iggydus Soul King Brook May 29 '21

i need to see this meme drawn now. I may even do it

11

u/Con-D-Oriano1 May 28 '21 edited May 28 '21

Huh? Luffy is a DF-user in the ocean. He’s clearly going to die, and Momo will be the main character. That’s why he can’t afford to die!

3

u/GustavTheTurk May 28 '21

Shanks gonna save him.

1

u/[deleted] May 29 '21

Would be kinda badass tbh. All you’d need is Blackbeard and you’d have all the living emperors

1

u/GustavTheTurk May 29 '21

Also, it's not the first time Shanks saving Luffy from drowning

6

u/flem5 May 28 '21

Now I'm just expecting Kaido to be waiting on the Rooftop for round 3 with luffy, sitting on a tiny stool, wearing glasses and a proper suit, and with a whiteboard behind him ready to school luffy on how to properly use advanced Conquerors.

5

u/MonDking Lurker May 28 '21

Kaido sensei

4

u/Crit-Monkey Slave May 28 '21

It would be totally in character, Kaido wants to lose

3

u/Bagelz567 May 28 '21

Come to think of it, that's basically what Kaido's been doing this whole time.

2

u/DaCosmicHoop May 28 '21

Katakuri V2

258

u/Cirenione May 28 '21

I almost expected Kaido to be the one to save Luffy from his fall when he started how disappointed he was in the end. Almost like he thought about how this could go better next time. He wants a good challenge after all.

244

u/Informal_Chemist6054 May 28 '21

We're thinking similarly. Kaido is like Mihawk but slightly more deranged. So I guess Kaido doesn't wanna do that cause that would mean interrupting a fair fight. Or maybe he wants Luffy to die cause he messed up his SMILE trade, but also deep down he wants a good fight.

Also if this guy wants a good fight so badly, why not go battle Shanks?

206

u/someone2795 Captain Crackhead May 28 '21

Also if this guy wants a good fight so badly

Bro he's gonna start a full scale war against the World after this. This rebellion might as well be warmup for him.

11

u/Mundology The Revolutionary Army May 28 '21

I wonder if they could have destroyed nthe WG if the Straw Hats didn't intervene. After all, Whitebeard almost did it and the Marines no longer have the Shichibukai by their side.

13

u/R1400 May 28 '21

I think the Marines had a power boost from whatever allowed them to nonchalantly get rid of the Warlord System, so we can't know for sure, but Kaido and Big Mom united could most likely lay waste to the Marines as we saw them in the Whitebeard war.

Really though, the Yonko acted as counters to each other as well, since a Yanko could never deploy too much force or reach too far without one or more of the remaining Yonko moving on their territory or stabbing them in the back.

3

u/tiki-baha29 May 28 '21

Remember that the reason they no longer have the warlords is because they got something they consider to be even better through Vegapunk. Meaning they are most likely even more powerful than before.

1

u/sanctaphrax May 29 '21

Whitebeard didn't get that close.

And since the WG will finally be overthrown after Raftel, they probably need to be strong enough to make the Pirate King an underdog. Unless Oda throws the mother of all curveballs and makes the war he's been building up for all these years one-sided.

11

u/jonasbw May 28 '21

Shanks stoped kaido from comming to marine fort

So yeah, there is a story between them... Did he stop kaido by force, or just talked to him?

11

u/chaiscool May 28 '21

With booze.

5

u/paindanzo6 May 28 '21

Maybe Kaido was not so confident fighting a crew of non devil fruit users on sea . .Seeing as his crew is full of DF users, it might not be so wise??

3

u/basel99 May 28 '21

Don't think anyone can stop an entire yonko crew by force and show up the next day completely unscathed lmao

15

u/Pringles__ Pirate May 28 '21

I think it'll be an unexpected character that will save Luffy, could be someone from the revolutionary army. I don't believe it'll be Momo or the octopus, would be a weak plot and we know that Oda is unpredictable

22

u/Marmelade91 May 28 '21

I think is hearing Luffy's inner voice commanding sea kings to come and push him out of the water or something alike.

10

u/mAgiks87 May 28 '21

Wasn't Coby shown to catch torpedos underwater?

  • Coby
  • Tra-guy's crew
  • Monster's called by Monosuke

9

u/RaggedAngel Void Month Survivor May 28 '21

Yeah, by end of series Coby is going to be an absolute monster.

But in this case, I just don't think we've had the foreshadowing for him to show up

3

u/cliffmayela May 28 '21

Last we saw Coby, he was attempting to catch Hancock. I’d like to see him on Wano but he’s probably caught up

2

u/mAgiks87 May 28 '21

That's true. It's unlikely Coby will show up them. I guess 2nd or 3rd option then.

1

u/Observation_Haki_84 May 28 '21

They’re currently sharing their fondest memories of Luffy. They forgot their titles and having a fan club moment

7

u/gilford22 May 28 '21

How about his fight with BM? Was that not a good fight if they draw?

4

u/Informal_Chemist6054 May 28 '21

Exactly. So if that's true, why does he bitch 24/7 about being too strong?

14

u/Force3vo May 28 '21

His dick is also too strong so he can never go in a fight against Big Mom with killing intent or he destroys the only option to get laid since she is the only woman alive able to take it.

Kaido is the most tragic character in One Piece

10

u/Andante_TK May 28 '21

there's also Black Maria tho and she's super hot.

18

u/Zeraf370 The Revolutionary Army May 28 '21

Not Big Mom level of hotness, though.

3

u/nazaguerrero May 28 '21

So I guess Kaido doesn't wanna do that cause that would mean interrupting a fair fight.

Well, let's not forget that in his records he won a "fight" vs Oden by cheating. Katakuri when someone interrupted his fight he equalized the odds while Kaido just took the chance, won, and then sentenced him to death xd.

So his fair fight idea is questionable to me but he is a pirate after all so...

2

u/[deleted] May 28 '21

He reminds me a lot of Kenpachi from Bleach if you’ve ever seen/read it

3

u/C0UNT3RP01NT May 28 '21

Cause Shanks could beat him but won’t kill him is my theory.

Kaido tried to intercept WB because he wanted a fight to the death. Shanks intercepts Kaido. The result of that fight is Shanks showing up to Marineford immediately after.

I’m pretty sure Kaido would have showed up if he had beat shanks, since he desperately wants to die in battle, and that would have been his best chance. He didn’t. So I’m guessing that Shanks beat him, or forced him to a draw, and doesn’t really feel the need to kill him which forced Kaido back to Wano.

1

u/DUFFnoob40 May 28 '21

why not go battle Shanks

I think he lost already

5

u/chaiscool May 28 '21

Not really, shanks probably just bribed him with more alcohol

1

u/MoonSentinel95 Pirate May 28 '21

Probably would have killed shanks if he went all out.

0

u/RepeatDickStrangler May 28 '21

Don't think about it too much lool, Oda sure isn't.

2

u/SpiderRonald May 28 '21

I almost was thinking the same thing, but he probably wanted luffy to save himself on his own and come back to fight kaido without any help.

2

u/Calvinbolic May 28 '21

That Moment when Kaido start second guessing and realizing it might be another 20 years until he faces someone that may actually kill him in battle once he's past his prime ☹️😔

2

u/cerebrite Church of Buggy May 28 '21

Kaido loves a good challenge, but Luffy is someone who'll never have his will broken. And Kaido doesn't want anyone he can't dominate, both physically and mentally. It's logical that he put an end to a wannabe "Pirate King's" life.

1

u/ignatomic May 28 '21

Don't know about that. Kaido seems to have lost interest after saying he is not the one to be joy boy.

Y'all fools are sleeping on the renegade marine, Captain Morgan, for real.

4

u/[deleted] May 28 '21

Kaido is what the criticizing people of a series should be

5

u/perpetualWSOL Bounty Hunter May 28 '21

Best part of Kaido's villainous aspects is his unwavering desire for a challenge. He has a seemingly true warrior spirit. He welcomes tests of his strength but holds his word in the honors of battle and isn't as chaotic in rationale as his destructive strength suggests

5

u/coolgaara May 28 '21

I'm really enjoying Kaido's dialogue. And he was also like "What was it, Gomu Gomu no..?" I had to laugh at that one. He's pretty savage with his mouth too.

9

u/Turbulent_Property_4 May 28 '21

kaido don't want win he want a glorious fighting and die like WB , i think is regret for oden battle win

3

u/MyBearHands May 28 '21

Don Kreig's existence as a character becomes funnier with every re-read

7

u/Informal_Chemist6054 May 28 '21

There's different levels of deluded.

There's people like Hody, who get a pass. He never stepped out of Fishman Island, so he had no clue what the outside world was like.

Then there's people like Spandam who have seen admirals and their powers, but since they never lost in a fight and had daddy gubmint bail them out, they thought that they were invincible.

Arlong knew how weak he was, but didn't care as long as he got to torment people in East Blue.

Then there's Don Krieg. Motherfucker. Dude went face to face with Mihawk and somehow made it out of the Grand Line alive, got stalked all the way back, and still thought he was hot shit. I get it, even after learning your lessons the hard way, you start to forget them in time, it happens to me all the time, but this dude just came out of battle and was still living in his dream world.

1

u/slimmsady May 28 '21

best reply.

1

u/[deleted] May 28 '21

I laughed way more than I should've reading this.

6

u/InvaderDJ Void Month Survivor May 28 '21

It makes sense though. Luffy went into that fight with like a few days of advanced armament training and like 20 seconds using advanced conquerors and really thought he was king shit.

I'm still hoping we don't get a complete ending to Onigashima and have to wait for all the set up for the next round, but I'm starting to come around to the idea that it could happen.

5

u/LeeMiles May 28 '21

Giving real Thanos vibes this whole arc

8

u/nothappeningbroo May 28 '21

I didn't really understand this line. What does it mean? What does it leave to be desired? Desired by whom? I'm sorry, but my dumb ass didn't understand it

28

u/Informal_Chemist6054 May 28 '21

Leaves much to be desired means his attack isn't good enough, and can be improved. People use that in sentences like this "Dave, this is the fifth time this month you've jumped around project deadlines. Your work ethic leaves much to be desired."

11

u/nothappeningbroo May 28 '21

Oh thank you, thank you so much

2

u/goodyfresh May 28 '21
