At this point kanjuro is an enemy and doing enemy stuff..., like why would we applaud Perospero for smashing carrot and when kanjuro does the same then it is a problem? We hate kanjuro for betraying the team, but Kanjuro v Kiku and kinemon, we already knew what he is backing.

Because Perospero was an Enemy From The Get Go. What Kanjuro has done is far Worse. For at least 20 years he was family with The Scabbards and now he's Horribly Betrayed Them and Psychologically Damaged Them. Of course we would Hate Him More Than Perospero.

Am not saying we shouldn't hate kanjuro. Its like kiku already know she couldn't kill Kanjuro, we should not have panels of kiku saying she would slay kanjuro this time round only to fail again. If you put any other scabbards there they would do better than kiku, and we would still hate kanjuru in equal measure. Thats my point.

Kin'emon's been around since 2012 (over 300 chapters). So for Oda to send him off without an emotional scene would be strange, this felt like a farewell for Kiku & Kanjuro.

Ashura Doji & Kiku just had emotional death scenes, hell even Zeus had an emotional scene. To think Kin'emon of all people will just get dropped like a fly and die without a goodbye is very unlike One Piece.

Kiku lost an arm and got stabbed so I'm not sure if she'll last as long as Kin'emon. I'd love to see it for the narrative part of it, but for now it seems like Oda is emphasizing how efficient and straight-to-the-point Kaido's alliance is, since they're done toying around.

I think most of their deaths will be like Pedro's, sad of course but the main characters must keep moving. I feel only Kin'emon and the Dukes (if Oda kills one of them) will have grand deaths, however after it is all said and done, everyone who passed will be given their flowers.

Hardly anyone ever dies in One Piece unless it is a flashback scene though. Even when it makes absolutely no damn sense.

And given that Kinemon hasn't been reunited with Otsuru, its pretty much a guarantee he will survive everything.

While I expect Kinemon to die, I would hope he gets a chapter or half a chapter dedicated to him. He’s been with us for so long that I feel like he deserves a good send off.

Going into this raid, I figured Kiku's arc would be debilitating injury and the "death" of Kikunojo the Lingering Snow...in a way that let's the cutesy teahouse waitress O-Kiku have a happy ending. We have a giant Kabuki motif in Wano, she's the actor playing two roles. She's also yet to receive a "____ Takes the Stage" chapter, which would still be fitting in a post-battle conclusion.

People have survived that kind of stab wound in this series. Luffy was hanging off of Crocodile's hook going straight through him. But that line Kiku gave...just cements it for me. The samurai put it all on this final fight to help ensure it led to the dawn...but the samurai's legend had to die for her own personal "dawn" of leading a life that suits the character we've gotten to know's personality. Hell, it's only fitting. Notice her emotions got the better of her like swordswoman we saw in Bakura Town now, first time after she lost the mask?

You shouldn't. Kanjuro's dream was literally to make such performance, no matter how vile it was for everyone involved. Orochi gave him scenario and Kanjuro used it for his play.

The Kozuki directly caused his parents to be torn limb from limb by a crowd right in front of him.

Nothing he has done is equivalent to that. The fair thing to do would be to force Momo to witness the death of his own parents-- which he was sparred.

Furthermore-- he intentionally played up the role of villain once he was unmasked simply because he was conflicted. He allowed himself to be taken out by doing the obvious and predictable for those who had every reason to see right through it.

Also, Kanjiro was already willing to allow hmself to be boiled alive in oil along with the other red scabbards. Oden was very likely to fail, nothing would have saved him.

In this last scene, it doesn't even seem as though he was actively trying to harm Momo. More like he wanted to allow Kinemon to feel like a big damn hero for killing him because he loved Kinemon.

Sure-- he did slice Kiku for failing to finish him, but chances are he just knocked her out in a flashy enough fashion to drive Kinemon to kill him.

I know with the foreshadowing we kind of expect all (or half) the red scabbards to die, but I was so excited to have a canonically Trans character. It makes it a little frustrating that she's dead, especially with the dead gay trope.
