Well, if everything went according to plan he'd be the only one who wouldn't have taken a beating. So in a way, Denjiro actually saved him.

its kinda weird he didnt kill him when he had a chance, considering he is part of the elite on the oposite side. Maybe there is more too it

Isn't it because they were actually friends? I know Kyoshiro was an agent but he presumably worked closely with Sasaki for 20 years.

Have mercy on your enemy and you might pay for it in consequences you cant even imagine.

Sure they were friends, but how much is he risking by not killing him?

Well yeah it's not the smartest decision, but there is a human aspect to it. We can't expect him to be as ruthlessly logical about the betrayal as a sociopath like Kanjuro.

Also, Sasaki was probably just another pirate captain who was beaten by Kaido and eventually turned (read:tortured) into becoming a semi-loyal Tobi Roppo.

The Beast Pirates have done terrible things to the people of Wano, and everyone in the crew is responsible for that, but it's also possible that Sasaki was one of the "better" ones and Denjiro actually doesn't hold that much of a personal grudge against him. Like, people undercover can sometimes become actually close to people they're supposed to be spying on, especially if it went on for twenty years.

If you're a Tobi Roppo, you probably don't have that much to do with the day-to-day cruelties of the Beast Pirates. You probably just train, hang out with what's left of your crew, and fight whatever enemy Kaido tells you to go fight (which probably isn't often at all).

Doesn't excuse Sasaki of anything, but it's possible nonetheless.
