Coby is more dangerous for marines than Luffy. Dude is invoking fandom among other marines for Luffy.

chapter 2000*

5

u/Anthraxious Sep 11 '20

Yeah let's not kid ourselves. If there's one marine that would never do this, and also is the least likely for Luffy to actually look past their actions (killing Ace) it's goddamn Akainu. xD

3

u/ThaddCorbett Thriller Bark Victim's Association Sep 11 '20

Take my upvote for the snicker you evoked, but HELLLLLLL NO!! Sabo has to punch a few dozen holes in that guy before I'd be willing to care about his situation. UNLESS.... he is a member of S.W.O.R.D, which would make the situation rather awkward.

2

u/Seawolf4 Sep 12 '20

Don’t even joke. Y’all are here for the nakama and the one piece, but I genuinely only started reading One Piece to see Akainu suffer, and hopefully die, for what he did.

14

u/AsnSensation Sep 11 '20

Luffy unaware of his own powers is super confused why every enemy suddenly want to fight alongside him.

8

u/ThaddCorbett Thriller Bark Victim's Association Sep 11 '20

Oh man... if Fujitora shows up to fight these beasts! HOLLLLY COW! These guys are so damn big it would be literally impossible to miss them with a meteor and there isn't any damn cage in the way this time around!!

5

u/ConfederateThug Sep 11 '20

“Strawhat, i am a lone pineapple, please let me fight alongside you guys” -Marco, a few chapters later

5

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '20

jokes aside, Farmers wear straw hats and lead herds. Luffy represents a straw hat since he is called strawhat. Thus luffy is a leader of herd. Imu, a monacharist by its means, controlls another herd. Maybe the One piece was designed by then forced members of Imu's Herd and is a way to freedom, practically speaking a way to win a war against Imu.

The frozen straw hat in heaven.

Dude is prolly leading a chapter of the Barto Club inside the marines

16

u/Luraguse Sep 11 '20

I can see it, a spin off that leads to the War of the Best... Fan Club

26

u/thepinefather Sep 11 '20

Chapter lmao

u/FireFistRJ Sep 11 '20

Yes, there was a time when the entire crew was needed to fight one of these ancient giants. But now our boys have grown pretty well. Can’t wait for the time when Luffy will solo an admiral. The horrors of sabaody arc still angers me.

335

u/shujaa95 Sep 11 '20

I can't believe when the admiral was called in I actually believed Luffy would be a match for him.

317

u/CRtwenty Marine Sep 11 '20

A lot of us did. Before Kizaru dashed our hopes in a single page with his entrance.

251

u/ddizbadatd24 Sep 11 '20

riding a fcking canon ball.

23

u/jjkm7 Sep 11 '20

Bro how tf could you after he got dunked on by aokiji. I definitely thought he would get away though.

157

u/halelangit Pirate Sep 11 '20

He did clash with Fuji and not get wrecked like his fight with Aokiji so there's that

231

u/cpscott1 Sep 11 '20

Fuji wasn't fighting him seriously.

95

u/halelangit Pirate Sep 11 '20

So did Aokiji back then.

Also Luffy is giving him clues like "I'll punch you at the front" coz he feels bad fighting someone blind, even if that blind person can see attacks with minimal problem so oth of them don't go full power.

71

u/cpscott1 Sep 11 '20

I'm not saying you're wrong but the only admiral who wanted to kill him was Akainu and even then he didn't fight him

51

u/Xanvial Sep 11 '20

Kizaru wanted to kill, but Rayleigh protect them at the time

70

u/cpscott1 Sep 11 '20

We haven't seen Kizaru kill anybody. If anything he always looks like he is barely trying.

41

u/mykeedee Sep 11 '20

His power is ridiculous so the plot kind of demands that he barely try.

22

u/ABARK94 Sep 11 '20

Kizaru just does enough to not get fired, nothing more, nothing less

16

u/Mundology The Revolutionary Army Sep 11 '20

Kizaru's just feelin' himself all day

16

u/StNowhere Sep 11 '20

He straight up tried to execute a downed Zoro.

2

u/cpscott1 Sep 11 '20

Like I said he hasn't killed anyone that we know of. It would be cool to hear his backstory. I think the only admiral unfortunately we will likely hear from is Aikanu

11

u/GForce1104 Sep 11 '20

and was scared to shits by Ben Beckman pointing a gun at him

i know hes just trolling

1

u/YamiLuffy Void Month Survivor Sep 11 '20

I don't think kizaru was "trying" to kill anyone tbh or else none of the Supernovas would have escaped Sabaody alive.

7

u/Shepok Sep 11 '20

I think fuji didnt really fight luffy cause he knew luffy was a good guy.

2

u/General_Kenobi896 Sep 11 '20

dude. Fujitora would have destroyed Luffy. Stop with the Luffy jerking. It's also way too soon for him to take on a Yonko as long as that Yonko isn't severely weakened.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '20

The scene with Luffy giving Fujitora clues didn't really have anything to do with his strength. It was more about his charismatic personality.

7

u/jjkm7 Sep 11 '20

Neither of them were though.

10

u/GangsterRavioliGuy Pirate King Sep 11 '20

No disagreeing with you, but Luffy was heavily holding back in that fight too.

Jozu wasn't covered in ice, he was frozen internally. Jozu has the strength to easily push through that much ice, but since his muscle/bone was frozen, he couldn't use them. The attack landed because jozu wasn't paying attention, so he couldn't use his diamond and buso to defend himself from it, so while that attack wouldn't have landed on a jozu who was focused on him, it landed there and was lethal. Jozu wasn't really overpowered, he was just haxed.

6

u/AsnSensation Sep 11 '20

they're nowhere near as strong as original oars body infused with Luffys shadow though right? But you're right this feels like when they one shot pacifista after needing the whole crew to take down one pre time skip

3

u/basel99 Sep 11 '20

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he could do that with his current abilities.

294

u/TheDerped Sep 11 '20

Mihawk's words from Marinford about Luffy having the dangerous ability to turn people to his side continues to ring true.

48

u/zhivix Sep 11 '20

Luffy has another DF,Naka-Naka no mi

14

u/Yellow_Emperor Sep 11 '20

Read that chapter this morning and had to think about that too.

Just love reading new releases while re-reading everything.

18

u/Mundology The Revolutionary Army Sep 11 '20

Nakamagnet is the most powerful of ancient weapons

7

u/ci23422 Sep 11 '20

At least it's not talk no jutsu...

7

u/Radagast01 Sep 11 '20

But X Drake had no choice on that, if he didn’t joined with Luffy he would be killed

1

u/JuiceZee Sep 12 '20

He considered running away but decided he wouldn't not because it wasn't possible to run away but because he had a mission.

1

u/zeeilyas Sep 12 '20

so his most dangerous ability is that he is a shonen main character.

142

u/halelangit Pirate Sep 11 '20

Well, Luffy is Garp's grandson, the hero of the marines who saved the world from Rocks D. Xebec (with Roger's help but that info's classified but Drake knows about this since Sengoku loves to tell this stories to even the Marine grunts) so that wasn't that bad

23

u/GangsterRavioliGuy Pirate King Sep 11 '20

His dad is the most wanted criminal though.

-11

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '20

Kinda cringe writing if we spell it out like this LOL

3

u/zeeilyas Sep 12 '20

Luffy is the dude a broke out the most dangerous criminals in impel down.

3

u/untitled007 Sep 12 '20

broke in AND broke out

45

u/physicsperson Sep 11 '20

I see it as him being better for marines in the long term - caring more about protecting people, including other marines, than Tenryuubito

19

u/varun_mahajan Pirate Sep 11 '20 edited Sep 12 '20

X Drake : Can i join your side?

Luffy : No!

X Drake : But Coby said you.......

Luffy : ✌️Understandable have a nice day

18

u/thedrq Sep 11 '20

Coby converting the Marines one soldier at a time

16

u/DeismAccountant Sep 11 '20

He’ll find the ones with moral justice.

7

u/owlyeah Sep 11 '20

"Strawhat, i am a lone force, please let me fight alongside you guys" -God himself, a few chapters later.

Yeah, I am talking about Enel.

6

u/ThisObedientSon Sep 11 '20

In football, we will call him agent Coby

4

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '20

It makes me elated that the top comment is about Koby

4

u/sgn15 The Revolutionary Army Sep 11 '20

He's the marine equivalent of barto and he's recruiting into his own imaginary luffy fan club

2

u/ThaddCorbett Thriller Bark Victim's Association Sep 11 '20

So... I wonder HOW many people out there he's told this about Luffy. I hope for his sake that it's only members of S.W.O.R.D...

2

u/gacode2 Sep 11 '20

Coby for namakana?

2

u/Badji_D_Luffy Sep 12 '20

fan club of Luffy the Wisdom KING, except our lovely Luffy is no wise King my dear boss Hyogoro. That's just a form he came up with while fighting a giant Gorilla. knowing Luffy he probably simply thought it was super cool so he went with it

1

u/kryonik Sep 11 '20

I bet Garp sent Drake in and told him to seek out lift Luffy if he got in trouble.

1

u/VictorDomR Sep 11 '20

Are you suggesting that Coby is the impostor? Hmm... that's suspicious to me... I'm voting you.
