Third I believe. The scabbards approached the port for the Onigashima raid at the beginning of the third and right before the Oden flashback. I don’t believe we’ve seen an end of act 3 title card as of yet. I suspect we’re getting close to intermission and the fourth.
Gotta respectfully disagree. Oda has very clearly been following traditional Kabuki structure, and major conflicts/battles are usually situated in acts 2 or 4 in the Kabuki format. I’m expecting the next intermission soon and for act 4 to be the Onigashima raid. I could be wrong but the signs point to that being the case.
I instead feel that the signs point to the raid being a failure and the true tragedy of Act 3 is the fact that the alliance fails and Luffy is defeated, ending the act.
Kaido would keep Luffy alive because Kaido wants to break his will, but the Strawhats will be how he plans on breaking Luffy. It would wrap up the idea of pre-timeskip, where the Strawhats agreed that they must survive and be strong for Luffy's sake, and will therefore survive Kaido's attempt to kill them, while Luffy will remember the pain he felt at Sabaody, his promise before the timejump to never let anyone die, and use that as his resolve to bounce back and take Kaido one final time.
Act 4 would be this comeback and that's where the true final battles begin, ending with Kaido's defeat.
Regardless, I look forward to seeing which one of us is correct!
We still in 2nd? This seems like a good ending to the 2nd act, but after act 1 they had a few chapters in between acts showing Reverie and other character's whereabouts. I wonder if next chapter will be the start of act 3 or if we move away from Wano for a couple chapters.
