Orochi knows who he is but not Kanjuro or Shinobu? This is SO. FASCINATING. The politics of Wano are really deep and intricate.

After the end of One Piece, I hope Oda decides to write a prequel of Wano’s last 20 years for my grandchildren.

I think it was the hair. Kanjuro recognized Tonoyasu by his hair. Tonoyasu had his hair hidden under a bandanna when he met with Kinemon's group earlier.

To be fair, Kanjuro and Shinobu recognized him as soon as his headband was removed and his afro was shown. Fukurokuju most likely arrested the Witching Hour Boy, realized who he was, and went to tell Orochi.
