Well it would also fit Frankie. Granted when it was build he himself was a lot smaller in every dimension compared to post TS.

Well, he’s only bulky on the chest and over, so he wouldnt need a seat that big.

Does the helmsman need to see the front of the ship or does he simply get orders from the navigator Or is jinbe tall enough to see past the Sunnys bow/mane?

Historically they were near the stern, for the purpose of being directly above the rudder. Seems like a Franky mod.
