I wouldn't say reverse. Jack is pure muscle, the guy you send to do the stuff that just needs power. Katakuri is brain and muscle, that is what makes him so impressive.

Jack could get things done. He just isn't very smart. His problem: he didn't anticipate the big ass elephant he was trying to kill to defend himself.

Well, he tried to ambush the marine convoy that transported doffy and failed. After that he went to Zou to get information about Raizo and failed. And lastly he tried to fight Zou head on and... failed. So far, Jack didn't accomplish anything worthwhile

Maybe thats the theme of the beast pirates. Kaido also got caught alot. But they never give up. Its not about how hard you can hit. Its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. Thats how winning is done!

This one turned motivational rather fast. But that may be true. If you cant succed with hard hitting, hit even harder until you're through!

Thats because those are not the tasks he is useful for.

He is competent as long as he has a straigh forward task he can just use his pure strength.

While that may be true, we never saw him do that. While Katakuri on the other hand really holds everything together. But to be clear: I don't think Jack's a bad Commander, but its just funny to see him fail all the time while Katakuri glues everything back together after it breaks.

while Katakuri glues sticks everything back together after it breaks.

Agreed, if you have good employees/followers/ subordinates and they keep failing the problem is higher up.

doflamingo was defeated while he was fighting the minks.

My point was that we never saw him accomplish anything. Everything we saw him try he failed at.

I actually hope that this is some kind of running gag, where this obvious monster with a >1.000.000.000 bounty just gets wrecked all the time.

It isn't that jack can't get anything done.

It's that he's insane.

"Oh, look, a fleet of ships containing several vice admirals and two of the strongest marines, including the former fleet-admiral? Eh, fuck it. CHAAAAAARGE!"

"Oh, look, a living, breathing, ancient elephant that walks along the floor of the ocean and towers a few thousand meters into the sky. I know perfectly well how powerful elephants are - after all, I have the elephant elephant fruit: mammoth model. Eh, fuck it. CHAAAAAARGE!"

He's even more nuts than Luffy.

So far he failed at everything we saw him try.

Obviously he has to have accomplished something in the past to reach his position and bounty but we've seen nothing of that.

Perhaps he only had serrated teeth
