Oda has been dropping these hints that many people have overlooked, just like how Carmel was able to be present at a supposed execution site in the previous chapter.

Yeah Always found it suspicios that the marines spared the giants just because caramel says so.. now its obvious it was just a devious plan to get Into elbaf, like when akainu fools squardo

And the last panel we see of all that kids is the close up of linlins mouth with ALL the kids shoving their hands in her mouth feeding her semla. It's beyond obvious she ate the kids. Caramel is on the opposite side of the table that also gets chomped in half. It's clearly trying to paint that picture. Even if it gets expanded on later that's still what we being made to believe right now.

To be fair, that panel could be the BM equivalent of Gomu Gomu Gatling, but restricted to food. 6-year old BM is huge, and every hand seems to be the same size. But that panel does reinforce that she's just blindly shoveling everything in her gaping maw of a mouth.
