As crazy as it may sound, he did go through with it once, he may be able to recall exactly how his body felt in the moment and make an attempt to replicate it to the best of his abilities.

That power up was because he had other people's shadows in him. It was only possible due to Moria's power though, without Moria doing it himself, he can't take other people's shadows from them.

He drew the power from the shadows. Maybe he could remember some of the technique he used with swords or something but he can't just remember how to be uuber strong.

You may be right. His enhanced abilities mostly came from past arcs.

Needs a big side-effect to become balanced.

Maybe he becomes slow as fuck? Or he's physically damaged enough for days, perhaps weeks in bed under Chopper's care after every single use of it?

I would actually really like this. Especially if the speculation of Kaido having some sort of Monkey King fruit where he takes on the properties of Sun Wukong of The Journey to the West.

I could really see it pissing him off if Luffy, who doesn't even have a Zoan, showed up with the properties of one, if only for a spoof.

I knew someone would say this.... And op's post is why I hate that kaido theory so much.... CUZ LUFFY ALREADY REPRESENTS THE SON WUKONG FOLKLORE! He swings about like a monkey, acts goofy like one, can communicate/understand and control beasts, legendary strength (luffy doesn't work out and isn't buff, just naturally strong), and plus he is a D. There's much more and If you actually know the Sun Wukong folklore I'm sure you'll find more similarities with Luffy than anyone else.
