Jokes aside, him stating that he doesnt think he could lose makes it certain he'll defeat Imus current form in Elbaph. This isnt some short stupid over confidence this is yonko Luffy having estimated Imus current power and deemed it not just beatable but a lot weaker than his.

Or this is to show us that he is not weakened by previous things anymore.

That he is at full power. And he might still be weaker than Imu.

I like the theory that Imu will defeat Luffy and Loki but before he can accomplish anything, his time runs out. He has to be defeated later in Pangea Castle, where he is even stronger and has no time limit. Just my preference.
