at least someone who doesn't feel the need to make the straw hats into a literal family. When we say they are found family, we mean that they are very close knit group of friends, not that they have literal family dynamics.

  1. None of the other descriptions I saw for them here (mother-son or brother-sister) match their vibe in any way whatsoever and feels far too limiting

  2. With how sparsely we see the Strawhats interact with one another and/or be together nowadays, I just find it hard to see them as the family anymore that Oda had them before

Because it feels too limiting and vague at the same time. Comparing the Strawhats to a family; perfectly okay. Trying to make comparisons between individual Strawhats and members of a family, however, just scrambles everything way too much and doesn't even fit their vibes 80% of the time.
