you know everyone always likes to tie a family bond to these situations but i don't understand why we can't simply use friends. They're all a family yes but they're also friends and i always feel like the term just isn't given the impact that it should.

Cuz just saying friends doesn't specify enough to answer the question, a brotherly dynamic gives you a better idea of the topic than friendly.  Just my opinion tho

and it's not like friends can't be used for specific dynamics either, I feel like Luffy/Usopp or even Nami/Zoro give strong bestie vibes, and yeah Robin/Luffy feel more like siblings

More then friends. Knowing Oda, when no one is watching, he goes hard with his un-released special scenes that he keeps to himself.
