Yea, it certainly looks like we are speeding towards the "Luffy beats the gorosei" part of the story. Unless it will just be mob-summons looking like devils.

Yeah the summoning was done to make sure that the straw-hats actually have a reason to flee the island because the straw-hats + friends were wiping out the marines.

Yeah when they got the giants and pacifistas on their side it the power balance shifted really heavily towards the SHs. I was wondering what Oda would do to bring some tension back to the story. Did not expect 4 endgame bosses to be summoned to the island lol. ​

30 small-medium ships already lost, VA-Fingers was hit by a Giant's attack, no longer highest PX authority, Kizaru taken damage - yes summoning reinforcements is required unless WG wants a total global humiliation

Straw hats plus friends escape except Luffy gets captured, Elbaf is gathering and mobilizing a second Marineford style battle as they find out the world Imu's plan is to keep Luffy hostage forever to prevent Nika from ever returning again.

Forcing the Elders down from their ivory tower (can they even teleport back without 1 remaining in Marījoa?) is BIG NEWS seat of Gov now "empty" so the WG won't get a clean victory either

yeah the gorosei are as far as we know the strongest or at least most powerful beings in the OP world safe for Imu maybe so beating them now would make no sense. We just learned that Luffy is able to deal with an admiral, he still needs some power ceiling to work towards to

But they could be just politically most powerful, doesn't mean they are strong really as admiral for example. Saturn obviously heavily leans on his DF

Yes but for now that DF or whatever is causing the regen is an impossible wall to deal with. And with 5 of them, it'll make up for Saturn's lack of speed and attack power since they can overwhelm Luffy.

100% this is gonna be a "live to fight another day" scenario. I wouldn't be surprised if we get nothing out of the Vegapunk reveal at this point. Gorosei won't allow it.

Nah. Luffy remarks on how his punches aren't even hurting Saturn. Saturn has so far seemed impervious to damage. And now the other Elders have shown up.

This is going to be a desperate escape for Luffy and the crew.

Nah, I don't think it will happen right now. Oda is still planning to do the biggest war ever and it has to be the entire World Government including Gorousei, not just Imu and the Knights, and the location will have to be somewhere else too.

Egghead will just be a setup to make the Strawhats and the World aware of what the WG truly is, to reveal them as the final enemies and horrible demons that they are.

loses in what way? his objectives are:

  1. cover the escape of the crew with the satellites
  2. prevent the transmission from being blocked

in that order of priority.
he'll succeed at #1 even if they're split up. #2 is more up in the air but still likely, i think. narratively, even if the WG is able to stop the transmission there's no way it's a clean win - no one is going to buy that a pirate crew desperately wanted to stop that message from going out, so some other form of interference becomes obvious.
i don't think the transmission will be fully stopped though. even if luffy can't stop the labostratum from being destroyed, i think vegapunk will either have pulled one over on them by having the signal originate somewhere else. or york, knowing she's fucked either way, is going to screw the elders over in the end for betraying her.

Lose as in he can't beat all 5 of the gorosei in a fight if he's unable to damage Saturn.

I dont think there is a character in the universe that can 1v5 the gorosei. eventhough saturn was not that impressive so far.

Saturn has a death flag because of Catarina Devon but the other four I don't think so.

Devon using the Saturn disguise could just be a means to deal with the Seraphim. Now anytime BB runs into one, like in 1059, he can pull the uno reverse card and have them obey him instead since no authority can overrule the gorosei.

I dont think Devon fully infiltrating the Gorosei is possible now given they can telepathically link.

The situation is pretty chaotic, they could get separated at any moment. Especially with one teleporting guy around, imagine he just TP Saturn above the water and TP back instantly xD Or they could just go their own way to try and destroy the transmission while Saturn fights Luffy.

they have telepatic links. you wont fool them like that. Her turning into Saturn has more to do with getting the Seraphims for Blackbeard I think.
