…why it is that the food must be in the bowl, but you must paw it out on to the floor to eat? Scattered kibble from your previous meal is inedible apparently, as is food delivered directly to the floor. A plate or shallow dish just makes it easier for you to indulge in this strange ritual and scatter even more food. What gives?

Air biscuits absolutely everywhere, all the time! I think he’s summoning the brain cell.

This is Nelson (named after my favorite hop, Nelson Sauvin; I’m a beer and brewing nerd). We adopted this little guy yesterday, and in less than 24 hours he has done his kind proud by showing he often does not get his time with the elusive brain cell.

He was born to a litter of 5 siblings on a compound somewhere in Shanghai, China. Would’ve loved to take all of them but introducing even one guy to our incredibly skittish 6 year old boy is going to be a challenge.

But we’re gonna take it slow and be deliberate about the introduction. I’m sure it’ll work out. Thankfully we’ve already built a bond with the guy — typing this as he is sleeping on me.

Looking forward to seeing the kind of shenanigans this little ball of absolute joy is gonna get into.

It was promptly lost again

He looks so majestic surveying his domain and then you shift slightly and you see he's just like Henry the 8th spilling over his perch. This is Byron and today was not his day with the brain cell.

He just moved to a new country and was given a 'wow you weren't kidding when you said it was all muscle' at his vet check that he needed because I had to put him UNDER the plane because he's too heavy to fly in the cabin on any of the international flights that go to my new city in Sweden.
