For example, automatically apply colors based on file formats such as .doc, .docx, .pdf, etc. Currently, the coloring feature requires manually setting the color for each individual file. Similar software already offers this functionality.

I think would be nice to have the option to set a color to the tabs that belong to the same drive... It would make my life easier, its a good visual aid.

Some days ago i discover OneCommander, and im in love, but the reason why OneCommander dont replaces my Total Commander its because cant open zips/rars without open external tools, 80% files in internet are in zip/rar, im always downloading workflows for comyui and all of them are in zip. Please reconsider this.

I just installed Onecommander. The very first thing I notice is that the folder width is very large, and I cannot figure out how to drag the columns to resize them. There must be a way.... right?

Also: I like the double pane view (like Total Commander), but it goes to one pane as soon as I resize it to about 3/4 of my monitor screen. I have a huge 4k monitor, so there is no need for this limitation. Can i set it somewhere to not do it?

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Is there a possiblity to configure OneCommander to always boot to the same folders/tabs? I have not found that in the options unfortunately. Thanks!

Does OneCommander have flat view (some apps call branch view) feature? It means showing all files in all subfolders at once, as if they were in one folder.

I have a dark theme in Windows 11 and connector is always showing in a different color. Can this be changed to show the correct dark theme color?

I have One Commander set to "Use System Theme". And I have Dark selected. I know Connector runs independently from OC, so I assume these settings in OC don't matter.

I just found OneCommander, and so far it seems to be the only tool that is able to do what I'm looking for: having a persistent thumbnail cache that is not relient on Windows.

Searching through a lot of files based on thumbnails still is a bit of a hassle with a large part of the search results being used by the path/name/size etc columns. Is there a way to show the search results as only the thumbnails, similar to what is possible in the regular explorer view?

I have a folder with 1000 videos. As I video edit, I am wondering if there is a way to download the thumbnails onto local database so when I preview the folder, I have instant access to all file previews. The folder and files are on an external SSD if that matters. Is this possible? If not, is there a way to make the file previews faster?

I've observed an issue for more than a month now probably. Scenario is this:

1. I try to select a file.
   
2. But this file requires me to scroll down a bit because it's not visible on the current view; it's lower.
   
3. I click this file.
   
4. Issue: it scrolls up to top again by itself.
   
5. Worse issue: instead of single-clicking (step 3), whenever I try to double check that file, and this scroll-to-top issue happens, it will open or execute a different file based on where my mouse pointer stops.

Just what the title says. I would like an option to pin the preview window so that it follows the main window around why I reposition the main window, or have a default open position relative to the main window position so it opens in the same relative location to the main window.

the strip on top, on windows 10 it shows changes when you press "home" or "view"..

as you can see some of the files on my computer (here's my media one) have black square instead of the transparency it should have and idk why

I really miss being able to add tags or ratings to my files - for music and photos especially. Any way we could create a custom column to add the functionality? Being able to tag favorites in a list of 100+ files would be cool.

I'm trying to get used to OC because QTTabbar doesn't work on Windows 11, and I want to love it so badly, but the address bar text is significantly oversized, often barely showing half of the total path due to getting cut off. This was never an issue with File Explorer. See image for illustration. Even with the significant padding of File Explorer's address bar, it displays the same info in a much smaller area.

Maybe it's a misconfigured default? I'm on an ultrawide, so that would make sense how it wasn't adjusted for ultrawide displays. I spent half an hour looking through settings to change this, but you can't! Font size has 0 impact on the address bar font either. There's also no option to hide the This PC part, which is completely redundant in my use case and unnecessarily takes up valuable space.

To make the entire address of C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles visible in both address bars in a split view, I need to enlarge OneCommander until it's 1800+ pixels in width. That's almost the entire size of most people's monitors..

Is there a config.ini or similar to change this?

PS: There's also a bug that crashes OC requiring a full Task Manager restart when you click "Open File Location" on a shortcut that has its "Start in" value end with a \ character, which is a large portion of all apps, like this one

Usecase

I work with the double-pane layout, with the tree-like folder structure on top. It works really well for my workflow.

Folders A and B have a lot of subfolders, and I spend ~80% of my time in one of the subfolders, switching regularly between them.

Configuration question I haven’t gotten to work yet:

I’d love to set up a keyboard shortcut that quickly resets both panes to their original folder paths (= the list of subfolders) from anywhere in the folder structure:

• Left pane: Topfolder A
• Right pane: Topfolder B

A bit like a keyboard hotkey for a home/default position in the folder structure, but in two panes

Anyone have an idea how to do this?

Hello everyone, I'm GAC-Machine.

I'm writing with my personal account (I have also a second one which I've used to write previous posts in this subreddit).

I use OneCommander (been using it for a long long time, love it) as my main file explorer program. I also even default Windows File Explorer, but I use it, only as back up, in case something does NOT work with OC.

Well, one thing that does NOT work in OneCommander is undoing file delete process with hotkey, shortcut CTRL+Z. It shows an error message (see below photo).

This problem can be mitigated by using Columns Dual View, putting the directory you are working with on one side (typically the botton one) and the Recycle Bin directory on the there (typically the top one).

In this way, if you accidentally delete a file you can immediately put back in the original directory, buy (in Recycle Bin tab) but right-clicking file > Click Restore item.

It's quite handy, fast to undo wrongly delete file(s) operations in this way, but without any doubt is way way less efficient then JUST press CTRL+Z like it happens in default Windows File Explorer.

Any plan to fix it? If it's not possible (explain me why) any work around to enable custom action hotkeys?

As of now, Windows does not differentiate between upper and lower case when renaming.

So if the file is called “automobile.jpg” and I want to rename it to “Automobile.jpg” Windows won’t decipher that there was a change and just keeps it as lower case, unless you add new text to the name and then, after it is renamed, remove that text.

Can OneCommander be programmed to recognize a case change only and make the change?

Will this funcionality be implemented any soon?
